What is your relationship with college?

Contributor: Ms. Paprika Ms. Paprika
Currently attending college, but will be graduating very soon with a BA! I loved college for the events, usually free, the people, and the networking opportunities, but because it's a public University, I wasn't too happy with the rising fees. From the time I started until I graduated, the fees nearly doubled.
So...I have a BA and debt.

I attended college, but left before I finished. I'll be going back (for a different program) in September as long as I can pull of the funding.

I didn't go to college, mostly because I couldn't afford it. Plus I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted to go for. I'm in my thirties now and have no desire to go now.

Attended 3 universities to complete my education. I have been out for some time now but if I won the lottery I would stop working and go back to school for the rest of my life. I realized during my graduate work that I am, deep down, a life long student who just wants to learn and train in everything. As sick as it sounds to some, nothing would please me more than to add a new degree to my wall every 2-3 years as I explore each of my interests.

That sounds like my college experience. We had one year where the tuition went up 32%. Ouch.

I'm in the process of getting an associates degree for funeral services. Luckily for me, financial aid covers my class fees JUST barely.

I just graduated with my Associate's. I should be in for my Bachelor's in the Spring, but registering is not going as planned.

I left school after 3 & 1/2 years, quite close to graduation. I realized I had no clue what I wanted to do with my life and I didn't want to end up stuck in a cubicle somewhere doing something random.

So I quit school, traveled all over the place, did all kinds of mcjobs and tried just about everything I heard about. I found out a lot about sex toys (mainly dildos) and had sex with several women and one guy (my best friend). And I paid a big chunk of my salary to my student loan payment every month.

Finally, after over 10 years away, I went back and finished school. Only took one semester; it was easy, and a lot of fun. I did spend some years after that working horrible jobs, but now I work for myself, make a decent living and still have enough time for myself to stay sane. I paid off my student loans about a year after getting my degree.

I've always kind of wanted to go back to grad school to get a masters or phd, but I think I'd rather just self-educate as a hobby. Maybe someday I'll live in a college town again. I could corrupt a lot of bright young minds.
