What's in your bed??

Contributor: Mamastoys Mamastoys
I know that it is proven that people sleep better in a cool, quiet, dark room. However, how many of us REALLY sleep like this??
I was just wondering what all sleeps in your bed at night?

I started this poll after reading some stuff about sleep. As for us, it is usually hubby, myself, and the beagle. That is unless hubby gets called in to work during the night.
The beagle starts out at the bottom of the bed and by morning, has her head on the pillows between us. She often dreams of chasing rabbits (or at least that is what I think she is dreaming about) and kicks her legs and yelps out.
Hubby has his sleep machine mask in the bed but usually has it on (unless he throws it off during the night).
If the cat didn't stay in a cage at night, she would be in there too.
Sometimes, i get some of the covers..other times, hubby and beagle hog them all.

The dogs sleep on the floor on my side of the bed, but they tend to pull the covers off us in the night so we wake up cold & they're comfortable. We have seriously too much crap in our bedroom!

We sleep in two beds really, one at my house and one at my man-love's house. When we sleep over at his place we usually sleep together with nothing else in the bed, occassionally our dogs will join us. When we sleep at my house we sleep with my little dog, my kitties, and numerous stuffed animals, haha. And right next to my bed are my hedgehogs, who being primarily nocturnal love to run up to the bed for us to pet their cute little noses. <3

I'm an animal person to the core.

My cat always manages to sneak onto my bed in the middle of the night. So it's him, me, and a bunch of covers. When I'm at the boyfriend's, his cat sometimes naps with us too.

Just me and my man. I heat up like one of those hand warmers so my man tries to stay the furthest away from me as possible bcs he sleeps better when the temp is cool. I have a rabbit but she sleeps (or so I am told, here eyes don't close and I have never actually seen her sleep as it were) during the afternoons and nights; during the day we let her out to run around our flat.

I guess I'm the same. My boyfriend says sleeping with me is like snuggling up to a space heater.

I sleep with my Build a Bear dog that my boyfriend got for me. When he's in town, the dog has to sleep on the floor

Well we share the bed with the cats besides the bedding. We have a small fleecy type blanket at the foot of our bed for one of the cats to suck on (don't ask). Right now, though, I have pillows and stuffies piled up on his side of the bed so I won't feel as lonely. Doesn't help much. I sleep a lot on the couch these days,

The couch makes a good second bed sometimes. If I can't sleep or everyone else is restless, I hit the couch..

Just me or me and my b/f. I am uncomfortable with my dog in my bedroom during sleep time as any sexual activity esp. noise producing, he just gets too excited and I/we loose our rhythm.

It's actually not as weird as it sounds. My kitty was simply weened too young, I think, and displays some signs of OCD including this. He kneads on fuzzy blankets and suckles them like a kitten would its mom so we keep those blankets around for when he wants to come into bed. Sometimes he ignores them and simply nuzzles me until I wake up and pet him, though.

Same with my kitty! Only one of them though (I have 3 cats) the other two are almost normal. o_O

I adopted him when he was 6 months old, so I don't know exactly what his kitten-hood was like, but we've often suspected that he was taken too young and/or he wasn't interacted with much by the kids who initally got him and they subsequently dumped him in the shelter. Needles to say, he has a fairly substantial list of "issues".

He sucks on blankies and the tip of his tail every night when he goes to sleep, drooling and purring all the while. About once a month he chomps the hair off of the tip of his tail while he's doing it too... it always grows back and then he eventually does it again.

I loves my weird-ass kittykins.

I usually sleep naked and cuddle under the covers. Currently, my bedroom is tucked behind a wall in my apartment, so it's pitch black back there at night, and when I can save up for them, I'm going to get a tension rod and some black/red curtains to cover the windows up front completely.

When I'm at home, my cat will usually lay somewhere on my bed. I sleep on my side curled up, so she's grown especially fond of the crook behind my bent knees, =)

Does he just suck on blankets once in a while, or does it do it often and/or eat fabric? If he does the latter, he could have pica, which can be dangerous.

Haha, no he doesn't have pica, (not any more than most kitties anyhow), although he does do it every night. Usually he just uses his tail but he'll use a blankie or other soft object maybe 20% of the time. As someone who works in the veterinary field I'm pretty paranoid about making everything in my home "pet-friendly" and I try to make sure that the bedding he gets is free of loose fibers, threads, and such.

Pica is usually a result of malnutrition, boredom, feline leukemia, or FIV. Luckily, he's spoiled to death (I make my pets' food from scartch - the way nature intended it dammit! ;D) and doesn't have any medical problems so he's just a weirdo, haha.

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose stuffed animal gets banished to the floor when the boyfriend is in town. I sometimes forget to move it when he gets there, and he'll joke that it makes him feel like a pedophile, having to push the stuffed dog out of the way.

I like it very cool when I sleep, so I can cuddle up under a lot of covers. So basically it's me in some form of PJs, a pillow or two, the stuffed dog, lots of blankets, and my boyfriend when he's around. No pets allowed. I love my dog, but she's not to even be in my room when I'm sleeping, let alone in the bed. If I let her sleep in my room when I'm at home, she has this bad habit of waking my in the middle of the night by head-butting me for petting... or by sucking on my toes. Not the best way to wake up at 2am.

It depends on if it's my husbands weekend or not. Normally it's just me and the dog, otherwise I'd have to hear him pace all night long or he'll jump up on the couches to sleep even though he knows better.

If it's his weekend, then it's him, I, and the dog. For the same reasons. We kick our dog out if we start anything sexual. Not that the dog bothers us. He just lays there. It's more of a "Get out, this is us time" thing.

Typically it's just me, my cuddle buddy, and his duvet. Every once in a while a pet or two will wander in but it's usually just us.

Once, while I was still with my soon-to-be-ex-husband I found a moldy taco in his bed...
