When dining out, what food do you always look for, and which might you ALWAYS avoid?

Are there any foods you routinely WANT when dining out (for me, it is DINNER ROLLS...a "little guilty pleasure" I deny myself at home, for diet reasons). And are there any you COMPLETELY AVOID? (I don't do anything fried..don't know how long that grease has been fermenting).

How about YOU?

I'm usually drawn to chicken dishes when eating out. But I prefer chicken over beef anyway.

The main thing I avoid when eating out (unless I can get a straight genuine answer as to where they exactly are from) are prawns! I refuse to eat prawns from anywhere other than AU and NZ. Cause I prefer my seafood to come from clean waters - not the polluted stuff from certain countries that will remain unmentioned in case of offending.
I have never seen prawns from USA over here. Then again from the small size of the ones I have seen on American shows ...etc - I'm not sure Aussies would buy them after being so spoilt with the monsters we bred here.

PS... Also I avoid curries cause it's a well known fact that they use older meat cause the curry disguises the fact that the meat is on the turn! And ya just never know if a company is using old meat or good quality stuff.

I always always look for some kind of sundae-esque dessert. Whipped cream or something to share with my guy.
Actual food, I love places with rolls, and pasta dishes always win.

i like to look all over the place, but usually start w/ pasta, burgers, or steaks.

If there's a dish with vodka sauce, I give that a go almost no matter what.

I avoid chicken. I find chicken to be bland no matter how it's prepared, and if I'm eating out, I'd just rather have something more exciting.

I always avoid chicken when eating out. Eating out is a treat for us - so I go with seafood or beef. As I've gotten older I have developed a quirk - I get the same thing each time a go to a restaurant - don't even need menus anymore. I get my variety by frequenting a fairly large number of different restaurants.

I'm always looking for asian, mexican or good southern cuisine. Occasionally Louisiana style. I definitely stay from certain asian restaurants. A few in the area have been known to poision people or serve food that is X amount of days old, resulting in "the runs". Lol.

I really do avoid sushi though. I really don't care for it at all! I'm not sure why because I remember loving it as a teenager, but something happened when I turned 19. I just stopped wanting it or even liking the taste of it. I can't stand Indian food either. Too smelly.

There's no dish I always look for, although I enjoy beef anytime, especially when dining out.

I do avoid: Shellfish, sea weed, peanuts, dairy products (except butter) and most corn. I am allergic to so many things, dining out is a minefield.

I can scan the menu for chicken dishes or beef dishes that don't have wild and crazy ingredients. My seasoning choices are fairly bland: garlic, salt, pepper are pretty much the only things I really like in my food. Anything that has mushrooms, onions, eggs or sausage is off the table. Because I just can't freakin' stand those items. The texture kills me.

If I know the place has a good burger or something like that, that's what I get. If they don't, I just get whatever fried chicken dish they have. I love dinner rolls and mozzarella sticks, but I'm quite particular about the coating used.

At steak and seafood restaurants I try to go for a nice, small cut of steak and either fried shrimp or shrimp scampi or grilled shrimp. Calamari rings or fried clams is a must.

Yeah, I'm a total pain in the ass when it comes to food. Tonight we're going to grab some Taco Bell cause the day is kind of hectic and I'm getting a burrito supreme without onions or refried beans and two hard tacos just to give you an idea. LOL

I love pastas when I go out, I order some at least half the time I eat out. Anything bready/doughy is also a big winner. I avoid things like steak or other straight-up meat dishes because although I'm not a vegetarian, meat just sort of weirds me out if it's not at least partially obscured by other kinds of food. It's just.. flesh. Ugh.

I always want sushi. Or ice cream.

And I basically avoid taco bell or any small Mexican food place like the plague. I like some Mexican food but I'd rather make it myself. Any place that can sell food for $0.99 can't have the highest hygiene standards.

I try to eat things that I have never tried before, or to eat something |I do not do at home regularly.

I try to avoid anything fried or with batter on it. I don't like entrails, ears, tongue or any other "weird" body parts. I try to eat veggie as much as possible but sometimes I enjoy a good meaty meal.
