When writing a review, do you...

Need to have used the item very recently to get your thoughts in order? I generally try to at least get some notes in a draft within 24 hours of each time I use it. I also tend to like having the toy either in front of me, in me, or on me, when writing the review, depending on the toy. Anybody else need the same immediacy of their toy to be able to articulate your thoughts?

I'm pretty much the same way, unless I've owned the product for a really long time.. but even then, I still like having it in front of me that way I can be sure all of the information is 100% accurate! : )

I try to have used the toy that day or the day before. I also always sit with the item in my hands while writing.

I agree, especially for the material and design portions I like to look at it and feel it while writing. I also like to use it very recently (like within a day or two) before I start writing so my thoughts are still clear in my mind.

I am actually over due on doing a review. EF starts sending 'over due' notices after about 2 weeks. I'm getting a little annoyed because I need to put a toy through multiple scenarios to do a good review and that can take 4-6 weeks. I just ignore the notices and do the review when ready. I do not write notes - it's all from remembering the good times we've had with the new toy.

I need to have used the item recently and also have it in my hand or nearby while writing.

I do use the item and have it present while I review it. I do not always look at it beyond getting the measurements, but it needs to be there.
