I just lost my dog today, but it made me wonder which I would rather have in a real relationship between 2 lovers.

I'm very sorry for your loss. I know too well how that feels and even 5.5yrs later I have moments where thinking about my baby makes my eyes tear up.

If I get involved with someone it's cause I have strong feelings for them and even if the relationship ends (even their doing) I still can't wish them harm of any kind cause they are someone I love/loved.
I'd much rather a partner leaves me to go onto other things in their life than to lose anyone via death. I don't know how I'd deal with a loving partner dying - it's extremely hard losing a baby (pet).

I lost first my fiance. It was really hard for me to get over. It's been over 25 years and I still think about her every single day.

Its sad when someone dies and some people never end up moving. I rather them leave and be alive than dead in a grave.

I am separated right now. Although it feels close to death some days, I would much prefer this over death. There is a reason for everything. You can't erase yesterday and tomorrow is not here yet. Trying to keep my chin up and wish for happier days. BTW, sorry for you loss.

Oh my, I thought I could answer it but it's hard. I guess I rather have him alive but not with me than forever gone.

Yeah... It would hurt, most painfully, but then, you know that they are going to be okay, and so are you. I'd rather my partner be happy with someone else than be dead, but, well, I don't want to think about it.
