I was using a computer with Microsoft ME until 2 years ago. They stop making updates for it and I have to get a new computer with vista OS. I miss my ME. Vista sucks.

2003 Compaq Evo N600c laptop. Borrowed from my father to replace my 2007 Dell laptop that literally FELL APART (starting at the keyboard). Known as 'That Compaq Thing'. Eight years old and still going.

Slightly better than my 1992 Toshiba laptop that finally died in 2008 (yes, it lasted that long) and had to take from Montana to Florida to transfer the memory into a new one ... Missoula Airport security thought it was a bomb because none of them believed something that thick and heavy could be a laptop. They had to call in another security person to identify it as a laptop.

Funny how the 1992 Toshiba lasted for sixteen years, this 2003 Compaq is still going strong, and the 2007 Dell fell apart within two years ...

Holy cow! Does it have a little mouse running flat tack in a tiny wheel inside?

I can't imagine using a computer that old. I replace mine every two years.

ATM I'm using 5yr old iMac because my MacBook Pro is being fixed but my MacBook is only 8 months old.

We have a four year old Compaq that is still going strong. We use it mostly for games and the kids use it for emails and such.

When I assembled my main computer in 2004, I designed it to be fast enough to play HDTV. I've since added a Bluray drive and had to replace the video card so it could play Bluray discs. It has larger, faster hard drives than when it started and several terabytes of external hard drive space but it has its original CPU and mobo.

I voted 4 years, because that's when he was first 'born', but he's had a few parts traded out over the years.

While I don't use the computer, my dad's computer was bought in 2000. It's a dinosaur. He does use it daily, though. Takes almost an hour to boot up.

I have one I built in 2003 that I now use to run my Untangle UTM. It runs 24/7 and provides antivirus, firewall, protocol filtering, vpn, ad blocking(adblock plus) and lots more.

I know my Dell laptop is a few years old, but I can't remember exactly when we bought it. I can tell you that it was one of the last ones to be offered for sale on Dell's website with XP. I really didn't want Vista and at that point I was still a little upset that I couldn't still get 98, but I was happy to get XP cuz it wasn't Vista. At this point, it's still running pretty well although the CD drive doesn't really want to work and it's running low on memory. My solution will be to buy myself a desktop to use while working from home this fall and save the laptop for traveling or lounging in bed.
