Imagine that you are in a totally different life, and before you are born, you can choose which kind of life you want to be born into...
You can be a king/queen with total authority over your country, so you have all the wealth and power in the world, you have to put up with all the problems with a very messed up economy and war, because of the international relationships the other countries are a pain in your butt, and there are always boot lickin weasels around you who can't wait to orchestrate your death somehow...
The second option is that you are born into a politician's family, and folks hate yer dad/mom (the politician), and they would just love to defenestrate him/her (look it up if you don't know what it means, it is practically to throw a politician out the window, was practiced some centuries ago in some regions), and the kids in the school make fun of you all the time, and you have no idea how in the world you will survive all that stress and humiliation...
The third option is that you are a peasant in the medieval times, and your life is a struggle to survive and hold on to a life what will never be better, you are so poor that you and your family barely eat, the landlord taxes the hell out of you and you have to work from sunrise to sunset everyday and give what you grow pretty much all to him, and the young just married girl (sister, daughter, your new wife, you, whatever it may be) is taken by the always drunk, fat, disgusting, cruel landlord because he is entitled to it, and lives with the chance of course...
