Alaska is completely protected with the Star Wars Heat Shield! No one in Alaska that I have ever met, has A/C.

Yeah it depends on how hot it is. On a nice day, I love to open the windows and let the fresh air in. If it's hot - AC on all the way. I don't do well in the heat.

I'd rather AC! It seems to clear the air better like smoke and stuff seems to do better with the AC rather than a window. I like to keep cool and a window just doesn't cut it unless it's in the winter. Also, my bedroom windows don't have screens & I used to leave it open all the time before I finally broke down and got an AC & my cat would bring live mice, moles, birds, etc! It was a nightmare. I couldn't tell you how many times I've had to wake up and chase after a mole or squirrel, chipmunk just to catch them and save them from the kitties. Also Spiders came in and last year I had a terrible nude-panic-attack while standing on a chair from 3-5 am because of a huge spider coming in! My dad had to come to my rescue! Embarassing!
& Not long before that incident, I was digging through a drawer of one of those plastic clear containers that have a lot of drawers and I dug andd dug for a hair clip and as I reached further back I kept seeing thousands of tiny little spiders so I didn't think much of it. I grabbed the hairspray and started sppraying then continued to dig for the clip. As my hand reached the very back of the drawer I saw this HUGE wolf spider in there! It was the 2nd scariest moment of my life! I had a panic attack and spent hours trying to kill it but couldn't get close without throwing up. Ugh!
All because the window being opened. So this time, I've refused to open the windows in my bedroom! Lol

For now windows open is fine, but I can't do that in July and August when it is over 100 degrees every day it just wouldn't make sense.

Sometimes the house is all nice and cool because I had the AC on, and My Man will turn off the air and open the window, letting blasting hot air in. I don't see the point. He just wasted all the work the AC did during the day.

My windows are opened right now, but when it gets really hot, I'll have the AC on for sure! I'm hot blooded.

We're a windows open house here. Sometimes if we know it's going to be brutally hot for a few days we'll turn the AC on, but for the most part we just leave the windows open. With my bedroom how it is now, I used to get yelled at when the AC was on because I'd open my windows, but my bedroom is over the garage, under the attic, and on a corner, so I have a whopping 2 surfaces out of 6 that are even attached to a heated/cooled portion of the house. Combine that with the vent that delivers heat/AC never being that fantastic to begin with and I had one large piece of furniture that only fit in front of the vent, I pick windows, because AC doesn't do much, lol. When we get our own house I'll reassess.

We had 118 days of 90 plus temps last year here, I do prefer windows open but at that heat its the ac for sure.

We don't have A/C. It's pretty uncommon to see homes with A/C units around here, but that's because the weather doesn't incredibly hot/humid except for a few days each summer. Not worth having a unit for that. Open windows and cold drinks, hurrah!

Once the summer heat kicks in it's usually AC most days. Window circulation doesn't do a whole lot except push heat around. Right now windows are fine.

AC I need a window unit because the central unit doesn't do much for my room. Both units are already on for the odd 80+ degree days but haven't run too much yet.

Definitely depends on how hot it is around here. Once I move to Florida, hopefully next year, it'll be AC for sure.

it depends on how hot it is out side, and if the wind is blowing. Most of the time, the house will stay cool until the evening. Then we open the windows to let the wind cool it back down. Only about 1 week or 2 out of the summer, do I need to keep the windows closed and the ac on high.
