What would you do if you won a big lottery jackpot?

Pay off all outstanding debts, buy the perfect piece of property for our homestead, get that up and running and maybe buy myself a car. I'd send some of it to family and very close friends and then put the rest in the bank.

Pay off debt first. Take care of the few family members who have stuck by me and then run away from the rest who will expect hand-outs. Next, I will buy my dream house and go back to school. The rest will be invested and saved.

I'd probably pay off all my student loans first.

If it were a really big amount, I would do all I could to go "stealth" mostly because of personal security. I would then pay off all my bills, set up close family to be "comfortable", and then, after donating to some charities I have always supported and investing some for the future, I would do a little care free playing...maybe a year long, round the world cruise?

Yes, the odds are insanely small. Of course, go tell that to the guy in NJ that just walked away with over $360 million. Yes, he too is a real statistical fact. Someone DID win. Had he not bought that ticket....what would his changes have been then? Just asking.

That is sure an unusual, but cool concept. Sounds a lot like Jay Leno's life.

For someone who doesn't play, you do have some big..specific plans. It is why I will at least spring for one or two tickets a week. At least it is a SLIGHTLY better then zero chance.

Amazing to me, for some odd reason, the number of people who say (including those here), "give to my church", near the top of their list.

Correct...but I honestly think I could "scrape by" on 115 or more million dollars (after taxes), don't you?

pay off all my debt, disburse much to my family, pay for my kids college, weddings, etc. savings and then invest.

I would pay off my mortgage and student loans, and any of my immediate family's debt. One of my relatives is a financial planner and I trust them to help me figure out investments. I would try not to live too extravagantly but would probably buy a few nice things. I would still work (just maybe not as many hours) because I know I feel pretty depressed when I don't feel like I am working and contributing to the world.

I'd buy a house and the stuff that comes with that (furniture, etc) and maybe upgrade one of our cars.
Other than buying a few things and taking a nice trip,I think I'd want to figure out a good savings/investment plan. We'd probably want to help a few members of the family who have been there and helped us in our time of need, but I wouldn't want that to get around so people start trying to take advantage of us.

Stay in college one more year, or use it to fly far far away to a country that has more job opportunities. Are there any of those?

I would tell no one, pay off all of my debts, and continue life as normal for a little while devising a massive plan to re-structure the rest of my life. I feel like if I just said screw it, and starting living large right away I would end up undermining a larger opportunity. I know that is kind of boring, but it would be great to retire almost immediately and just live happy, healthy and simple.
