Would you/have you ever went on or done a paranormal investigation?

I voted "other" cuz it was the best LOL duh right.. lol Anyway, I 100% believe in the paranormal, have had lots of things happen, but do not actively investigate nor do I have any desire too.

My grandmother lives in a house that we all actively believe is haunted and have done investigations on. I got my mother an EMF detector for christmas this past year We also have EVP recordings that we're very proud of capturing.

My dad has a story about when he had just gotten out of college, he and some friends were house-sitting this old house. They were hanging out in one of the rooms and there was a painting of a ship on the wall. It was crooked so my dad straightened it. A little bit later one of his friends was looking through some old stuff in a closet and found a box of little trinkets with some small bones in it. They started making poking fun at it ("Oooo, scary!") and shaking the box and such, and all of a sudden the room got freezing cold (it was the middle of the summer). They all got freaked out and put everything away. For some reason my dad looked over at the painting and it was crooked again.

I'm half-asleep. I really, really want to read some of these stories later when I can understand what I'm reading...

My family and I have had quite a few experiences. If I had offspring, some stories would probably get passed down. But I have become sort of skeptical in the way that I don't come to conclusions about anything. I have a lot of ideas about causes, both natural and "supernatural". I have wondered if I might have some head issues. :/ It's fun to assume I've seen ghosts, but I don't really believe I have. I'm pretty open. I wish I could find seriously unbiased scientists to work with or read the work of. I know of some people in my area, but they come off as being ghost-believers and I lost interest.

Briefly, two tales:

As a child, I seen a man walk through a wall and later, I found out two other family members seen something very similar at different times I believe in the same month.

When I was in Europe, some friends sent me to the other side of our spooky old hotel to check their room out. I didn't know what to expect. I experienced some feelings and visions. I later asked what my friends had seen and things matched up. I used to be very bold. I might be scared to do that alone now!

I used to scare the hell out of my significant other, telling him about what I've seen. Or what seemed to be in the room. I really didn't like scaring him. I got quiet. I don't really have many experiences now. It seems like the me that did was a different person.

My sister flips out any time she gets orbs. She has shown me some that are likely dust, once it was obvious that it was rain. :/

Orbs tend to happen more in photos by people who like using flash. Try this: Take your camera in a dark room and turn on the flash, take the photo. Now, find something woven that has been sitting out for a while unwashed like a rug and shake it. Photograph with flash. Orbs!

I have seen some weirder orbs, but if you think about environmental factors, they can often be explained.

I love the paranormal. I'd love to investigate, but I have no group. Sure you don't NEED a group, but you can get a lot more done with a group, and it opens up so much more activities.

I have had experiences, nothing to overwhelming. Actually at the time I was a little scared, but It could have (and probably was) me waking out of REM sleep to early.

I have been on a few investigations, but with a bad group you get bad results.

When I was just taken home from the hospital after being born, there was an incident that happened. It was the middle of the night and I was fussing (being a baby and all), my mom when to go check on me. When she got to me, ... more
Similar story: My Dad was a violent alcoholic most of my life and when I was a baby my Mother had problems dealing with the stress of him, her own problems and me. We lived in a three floor walk-up and my room was on the third floor. My Mom called her Mom and said she felt like she was going to hurt me so my Grandmother told her to put me in my crib and let me cry, as long as I had a clean butt, full tummy and had burped. She did this but felt very guilty, it took a while for my Grandparents to get a plane to England (my Dad was career Airforce) and they worried all the while. One night a family member that had been passed on for many eyars showed up next to my Grandmother's bed and told her I was fine and well cared for. That night my Mother felt at her wits end and walked into my room to check on me because I was quiet (check breathing...all new moms know what this is all about) sitting in a ricking chair bu the window was a woman dressed in a black and white Nanny outfit. She nodded to my Mom and said softly, "Our Angel is sleeping now, Mum. She's had a hard day, poor mite." My Mother said a heartfelt thank you and went to bed...the next morning she realized what was so odd about that encounter- she hadn't hired a nanny! She raced to my room where I was safe and sound but on the end of the crib was a hand made blanket embroidered with my name "Angela".
She knew it was paranormal because there was no light on in the room the woman glowed with it. After that she knew I was safe and would take me there for my own safety when she felt overwhelmed. My grandmother arrived and saw the nanny as well but my family accepts these things easily.

My Dad's Mom would visit my sister and sit in the same rocking chair and knit. She always had a lucky strike cigarette in her mouth and my Dad cried when my sister told him about this because his mother had died when he was 10. His favorite unshared memory of her was how it used to fascinate him that she could knit in the dark by cigarette light.

When I announced I was adopting the Wiccan religion not too many family members were surprised...worried about my soul but not surprised.

My first paranormal experience was very weird. My family just moved in to the house, which was still live in, and I was leaving the bathroom. My mom was talking to my sister in the hallway, and I say this tall white figure walk right from my sister's room (which was at the end of the hallway) to my room (which was at the other end). I gasped, which freaked my mom out, and just couldn't belive what I had saw. When I went to school the next day, I told my friends what I had saw. One said that they knew the family that had leaved here, and the wife had killed the husband in the back room and drag his body through the house. after that, we were planting flowers in teh backyard, and found a black trash bag and a pair of glasses. I don't know if all of these events are connected in anyway, but all I know is the rose we planted over the bag, grows back, every year, bigger and more beautiful.

My next time was about a week after my boyfriend's best friend died in a car accident. I never knew what she looked like, except by what my boyfriend had said, in detail (she slept nude). And for a week straight, I could swear that I saw her, hanging in the corner of my room, just staring at me. I was really creeped out. But I wasn't the only one who saw her; one of my good friends told me 'I always sleeps with my socks on and sticking out of the end of my blanket. But the last few nights, my socks end up on the floor and my feet are wet and sticky, like some had used them for sexually use'. We asked my boyfriend if she had a feet fetish. He answered "Yes, she loved feet a little too much." My friend told him the story and all he could say was "That's my Carah", and laughed.

I know these are very weird events and I really hope Carah hasn't messed with anyone else feet.

Some super-weird stuff has been going on lately around my place. Monday night I was talking to my friend on Facebook about the ridiculousness in Montana (there are people trying to make homosexuality illegal). My son was in the kitchen and wanted some bread. I returned to my MacBook after getting him some and "ewwww" was typed in the chat window. Super-weird. I'm 99.9% sure that both cats were in my bedroom the entire time. Then Tuesday night/Wednesday morning around 5-5:30 I was alone, just the cats and I, and I awoke to a rhythmic banging on what sounded like my oven. It was every 20-30 seconds and it lasted for probably nearly 5 minutes. Far too rhythmic to be the the work of felines.

I've had many MANY run ins with paranormal activity and spirits. I feel energy from old buildings, abandoned places, cemeteries, and even school. I've been this way since I was a wee lass.

I get irritated with most shows on television, though, especially the ones where the investigators taunt the spirits and disrespect them. That's just stupid and asking for trouble. Ever seen the movie Paranormal Activity? Even though it was staged...there are violent spirits and demons that do roam around.

I sound like a weirdo, I know. *shrugs*

That's kinda how I felt about Paranormal Activity. I was rooting for the demon because the guy was a total dumbass.

Me too. I don't like disrespect of the Dead. Yeah, it can rile them up and you get "a reaction" which I guess looks good on video, but they are disrespecting the Dead, and it pisses me off. Sometimes they'll justify it by saying "So and so wasn't a very nice person while he was alive, so it's OK to harass him." Yeah, if he wasn't a "nice person" while alive, he won't be while dead. I always wonder, if these shows aren't faked (and some of them obviously are) if they have problems later, after doing less than nice things to the Dead.

It makes no sense to me to do this stuff, but these TV shows have to get "reactions" otherwise they are just going on people's word about stuff. That doesn't make good television. So a lot of these shows either fake stuff (Paranormal State, anyone?) or go around pissing off dead people.

This was a problem my group always had - trying to be taken seriously when all these shows were obviously staged and being juvenile. That's most of the reason why we didn't charge anything.

We did have one guy in the group who always had to provoke because it got a 'reaction', and it got to the point (in which I was being pushed around by something) that I refused to be part of his team during investigations. The REST of us never resorted to such behavior, and we still got plenty of documentation. Any EVP's with him on them usually had something whispering "Fuck off" in reply to him.

Did I mention this was usually in former prisons and courthouses that this happened? Yeah.

I'm excited to go visit the place where my family came from originally. My father and my brother and my grandfather all kept personal files on their UFO sightings. I thought this was just something weird that my family did, but I happened to find a book written by someone in the peace corps who was stationed on the island my family's from. In the book, he totally mentions a special meadow with these three big boulders that are used for alien contact of some kind!

Anyway, I'm visiting there next summer, so I'll have to do some investigating there myself!

The only weird thing that happenned to me I can't even recall it.

My grandmother told me that when I was 3ish I would talk to myself. My father asked me why I was talking and I said I was talking to my two friends. My grandmother was sure they were angels or spirits from some other dimension bcs when I told my father the names of these entities is scared the hell out of him, the names were really inhuman and bizarre and he forbid me to ever talk to my friends or play with them again or else...

I wish my grandma wrote down the names of those entities.

I ask messages from my guardian angles and receive little signs, like money, pure white feathers, songs with lyrics that answer my question, angel shapes in the clouds.

I often wonder if spirits are around me and talk outloud when ever I feel like I am not alone, beckoning for something to happen but nothing has happenned. I am trying to open up to my abilities to see or sense these entities. Sometimes I wonder if I am ready or not to see.

I have before, but I decided I didn't want to do it anymore. For the first hour or two of my "initiation" they went on and on about making sure to use scientific evidence, which I can understand. Then we went out to some woman's house, and they actually did not use anything scientific, like cameras, microphones, voice recorders. Instead they relied on this weird woman who claimed that spirits were talking to her. THAT was their scientific evidence. The last straw was when she insisted on covering me and my car in salt and burned sage to apparently ward off evil spirits and when one of the guys got all whiny because I told him off for being a creep. If I could get with a serious, mature group who does not rely on someone's claims that a ghost is talking through their body, I might do it again.

My family's old house was haunted, though. It wasn't creepy or anything. He seemed more like he watched over us, and if he pulled pranks on us, like switching on and off lights in one room, he'd stop after my mom or dad would tell him to cut it out.

No lie, I am sitting in my bed room and I swear I heard slow, but heavy footsteps in our living room. It lasted for about 3 minutes. The footsteps kept getting closer, then far away, then closer again. Funny thing is I'm the only one home. That is the first time I have ever heard that noise in my house though.

I have had some experiences. My personal favorite happened one night after I had been upstairs in my bedroom reading with bright lights on. I went downstairs to talk to my mother and she was watching TV in the dark. My eyes hadn't adjusted yet and I said "It's really dark in here." The lamp next to me (a floor lamp with a foot pedal that needs to be stepped on to turn on the light) magically came on. Both my mother and grandfather were witnesses to this.

In my parent's house, lots of times when I ask for things, I get them...mainly lost objects, etc. I'd be looking for something everywhere and not be able to find it. Then I would come back upstairs to see it sitting in the middle of my bed or on my desk.

These things never bothered me though. The only deaths that are connected with that house are those of beloved family members.
