I would definitely use it, mostly because sarcasm never comes off properly in a text message. I've had many miscommunications and misunderstandings because of that.

That's what the "sarcasm tag" ( /sarc) is for -- and it's free! (Though you ARE out three extra key strokes than you would be for a single modified exclamation point.)

And I agree that if you cannot execute sarcasm without the immediate need to provide a disclaimer, then you need to work a bit on your finesse, timing, tone, and inflection. However, in a written medium (particularly when corresponding on on-line forums -- with the exception of EF, of course), I routinely see people who take posts that are ridiculously apparent in their sarcasm at face-value. So, I will often use the /sarc indicator at the end of my post on those forums.

Oh, I would definitely use it! Finally, a sarcasm sign
Also, it would be nice if other people used it

My sarcasm gets me in so damned much trouble that I'd kill for something that would more readily denote sarcasm. You'd think that after 15 years of the internet being widely available and an equal number of years of the phrase "sarcasm font", someone would have actually created such a thing.

I agree with everyone else. Sarcasm written down can often times not be understood, especially sarcasm that isn't heavy. I like the idea of this mark but I'd never buy it. I would use it if everyone was using and there is no way they are going to sell it to everyone.

I would say that I'd need one for facetiousness, not necessarily sarcasm. Sarcasm has an element of meanness to it, and when I'm being sarcastic, I don't always want people to know. If I'm being facetious, I could get into trouble if they don't know.

I might use it facetiously. Definitely not seriously.

I probably wouldn't use it all the time, but I could see it being useful in certain situations that might require extra clarity.

It's worth a shot.

I wouldn't use it. I think it would take away a good part of the point of being sarcastic.

I would for some people I know don't understand it online. But the point of sarcasm is to seem straightforward, but not really be.

i would use it. when reading text it is hard to understand the tone of the author and so i think that the punctuation would help!

I don't agree... sometime people are just oblivious to sarcasm. If you aren’t use to sarcastic remarks you don’t usually pick up on them. PLUS! It is harder to sense sarcasm online when you can’t HEAR how the person is saying what they are saying.

I would definitely use it. right now i try to use the dot dot dot or a few exclamation points do emphasize sarcasm but if they have a specific punctuation mark for it that would be great.

I would use this all the time. I can't count the number of times my meaning has been misconstrued because there is no tone of voice in the printed word.
