Only if I can create a brand image for everyone to chase after which will leave me (myself) in peace. I've somewhat done this - my usual online name is rather well-known for fanfic pioneering in a few fandoms (and have been accused of being a series' real author on occasion).

No, I've watched it destroy people I loved. I get enough notoriety online I don't need people in person hugging and pulling all over my arse. There's always the freaky side too I wouldn't want to deal with the dangerous types that go along with the ride.

No way in Hell would I want that. I don't like people I don't know in my business as it is and being famous would, well, make it worse. Plus, if they managed to dig up all the kinky shit I do and expose it, it would do a lot of damage to my family who thinks I'm such a good girl who doesn't do anything weird *cough*.

I have thought on this a lot. I cannot say yes or no. I tried to win a little of the spotlight--not merely to be famous, I had things I thought were worth sharing. But seeing what other people go though, I seen the darker side of things. I see people saying terrible, stupid things about famous people on the internet, and I think they should feel shame for it. I don't know much about celebrities, but I feel bad for them even if some are ridiculous. They are the punching bags of people who need hobbies. I can see how some very visible people give into bad habits thinking it will help them deal. I fear I could be one of those types. I could handle some fame, but I would try really, really hard to protect my privacy. I would have to learn to not look at anything regarding myself--I'm a quirky person and I'm sure the media would love to bash my eccentricities.
