Do you/Would you use Neosporin to shave your tender parts?

I'd never heard of this before, but I might give it a try one day for shits and giggles. OK, more for the giggles; I don't want to get the shits. LOL

I'd be with P'gell here. Unless the problem comes from a localized infection there are better things to use than Neosporin.

I'm sticking with using hair conditioner to shave and rubbing some isopropyl alcohol on the area afterward. Neosporin is great for treating skin damage involved with ingrown hairs (i.e. after I pull/scrape the hair out, I'll put some Neosporin on it), but I don't want to slather it all over my bits.

To clarify to people who weren't at the Porn Club meeting, she uses it in place of a shaving cream. Crazy creative, right?

But I seriously learned a lot of stuff from everyone's responses! What a great group!

It's a little too expensive to be using as a shave gel.

You know what isn't expensive? A bottle of White Rain daily clarifying conditioner. 99 cents. Works like a dream!! I don't have ingrown hairs or red bumps. It doesn't ick up my blade. The skin is soft and smooth.

This is one of the most interesting threads I've ever read. It's also going to be the reason I spend an hour in the bathroom tonight and The Husband wonders what the hell I'm doing.

I would try that... if only Neosporin weren't so expensive. I feel like too much would need to be used. I use conditioner and that works well when I don't forget to use it.
Same here, conditioner when I run out of shower gel.

Is neosporin like polysporin?

OMG! I didn't know this.

I have horrible ingrown hair in my bikini area. I used to feel really self-consiouc about it bcs not a lot of girls have a really redish brown bikini area. It's not so bad, but I used to feel bad about it. I tried shaving, epilatory cream, waxing and now I'm epilating. Now that I know soemthing could hel preduce those ingrown hairs I'm totally going to try!!!!

I have a formula that works just fine for me. I use an Aveeno moisturizing bar to wash the area immediately after I shave. That's always worked great, but then just recently I added another step. Somebody on EF suggested using conditioner on the shaved area. So, now I do that following my Aveeno and it works like a charm. I've actually been able to increase my frequency of shaving because I've pretty much obliterated any redness or in-grow hair issues.

I answered no on the poll, but then I got to thinking about it. I have never used Neosporin for shaving, but I did use it one time a few days after shaving because I had red bumps that wouldn't go away. One application did the trick. I wouldn't do it all the time though, I usually keep petroleum jelly based products away from that area based on my doctor's advice many years ago.
