Your Best Decade?

Contributor: Tori Rebel Tori Rebel
When I was in high school, I commonly heard that those were supposed to be the "best years of my life". That turned out, thankfully, to be incorrect (read: complete crap). I then began hearing that your 20's are really the best years of your life. But the last few years of my 20's have been remarkably underwhelming and I'm staring down 30. My mom swears that mid 30's is when it really starts to come together for women and I hope she's right. I know there is no perfect time for anyone and there have been very few all out bad times so far, but I'm wondering if there really is a general get-it-together or find-your-place decade? Is there really a 'best years of your life' decade at all?? Any comments appreciated

I'm 26 and have loved my 20's But I've never been one for parties or going out much. I'm loving my husband, our daughter, and our home

I'm still waiting for mine, and I'm in my mid-30's. So I'm making it awesome myself because nothing ever comes on a silver platter.

i've never heard anyone say that high school is supposed to be the best yrs of your life. i've heard that college is, but my mom told me that right after college is the best. once you've settled into a job & a steady paycheck, you get to move out & live on your own, you don't have homework or projects after work (depending on what you do for a living), & you don't have parents to answer to. i can't wait till after graduation in may!

The 20's are definitely the best!
Although, I haven't experienced the 40's, 50's etc yet.
I'm not so thrilled with my 30's. The only great part about it is hitting my sexual peak.

Well, I'm only in my early 20s now and it's okay.

I'm really hoping things will be more stable once I'm out of college. It's definitely better than high-school now, though !

I def partied more in my 20s but my 30s brought me my kids so that wins.

I chose I don't know yet, because each year I'm alive is wonderful for me.

I chose "don't know yet" because I'm 4 weeks away from turning 24, so so far the best has been my 20's but I haven't even gone through most of my 20's yet.

I wouldn't give one decade more precedence over another. Different things happen at different times. I wasn't a big fan of high school, but there were moments, same thing with college.
