*hammy announcer voice* Yes - Welcome to the 10/29 Edition of Exciting Friday Evening Plans!

Well, Tori, looks like this edition is for those who aren't going to Friday Halloween parties.

*back to abnormal self* A friend who usually has a Games Night at his place every two weeks had canceled the past month, then announced a half hour ago that it was on for tonight. I live far enough away to honestly say that by the time I get there I'd have to turn back around (so I'd leave before the drunks would get on the road).

So, instead of Games Night I'm listening to Friday Night 80's on the radio (again), and getting my overnight bag ready for tomorrow's adventure of afternoon wine tasting and evening's street party with a high school friend.

(For some reason, your mentioning of the cold apartment and waiting for the heat made me 'home'sick for Montana.)

And speaking of Band geekdom, lol, while I may not have any plans for tonight, tomorrow I'm going to the Crystal Coast Band Classic with Synthetik! I'm going to show him what all the fuss is about when it comes to me liking Marching Band so much I can't wait!

I went to my sister's Halloween dance performance and left my son with my family for the night. Now I'm home drinking beer and making tons of cookie dough so my other sister and I can spend tomorrow night baking cookies for yet another sister's baby shower next weekend. I have a baby-shaped cookie cutter so we can eat babies.
My life is so exciting.

November 20th, I'm excited! The sister who was dancing tonight is due in May. Hopefully they can be enough of a fix so my biological clock will shush until I'm done with school.

Ah, very true It's a great movie, when I was at my old High School (not the one Synthetik and I met at, the one before it) we'd watch it in Band if we didn't have anything else to do (which wasn't often, but it happened once in a while

It's friday, I'm supposed to be out at parties and socializing, where people expect me to be, but fuck it, I'm inside, writing notecards because while these bitches are failing out of school I'm thinking about the future, no matter how granny-ish it may be. There's always next weekend to party, but I know my priorities.. besides, I can't watch quality french horror out and about! It's Halloween weekend! There needs to be some L'Interieur, Haute Tension, Martyrs, and Frontiere(s).

Yet another Friday dedicated to cookies! My sister and I just finished frosting them. Now I'm going to make goat cheese, artichoke heart, and cherry tomato phyllo dough pizza and write a paper.

I am noshing on cheese and Diet Coke, trolling the forums while my cat chirps and whirrs behind me. She sounds like an owl. Also chatting with the boyfriend in China, and he wants to come home already. Mreh.

Dumbass should have thought of that before he left

Today was my relax day after a stressful and long week. I just watched Ugly Betty all day. I am still very disappointed that it was canceled.

I did literally nothing, all day Friday. Dozed on and off til about 5 pm, stayed up to watch a little bit of TV and order a pizza, got out of bed aroun7 to go get said pizza, got home around 8, sat in bed eating pizza, still managed to fall asleep around 11 and oversleep for work the next morning. You can say it, you're jealous of how awesomely lame I am

But in all seriousness tho, it was an amazing recharge day that I desperately needed.

Crash, sounds like my evenings in college. I went to the occasional party. Most of the time, I was studying and worrying about grades and OMG, the note cards so you can put your papers together! I was in college in the days before the internet, the research had to ALL be done in the Library or with huge, heavy books (I was a Psych and PreMed major) and we didn't have a word processor. If you made a mistake, say left out a sentence or a paragraph in a paper and wanted to add it, you had to either type the entire page over, or actually CUT pieces of the paper and tape them togehter. Some profs wouldn't let you do that, so even after your research and writing was done, you were up half the night typing.

There were some people who made quite a bit of money typing other people's already written papers for them. (Some made money writing the entire papers for others. Kids got caught doing that.) I was a terrible typist when I was a kid, and my Mom wouldn't let me bring the typewriter where I lived at school so I had to either borrow one of the crappy typewriters from the library and type the entire thing IN the bitty room they let you borrow, or go all the way home (two El trains, a bus and then walk a mile, with all my shit) just to type a paper. Yeah, and it was uphill both ways, and it snowed even in the spring and fall. (I realized for a minute there I sounded like an old lady, "Well, when I was young...." LOL!)

Anyway, it sucked, I know it still does. No matter what you are doing while you're in college you are thinking, "I could be studying. I have a paper to write. There's a test on Monday." It never ends. It's totally worth it to get your degree, though. That's what I keep telling my daughter who is in college when she's freaking out about all the work.

It is worth it. No one will remember too much about those parties later, but you will always have your degree. Keep up the good work, honey. (But, do get out on occasion! The occasional break is good for you.)

I know, My Man just jumps into things, too. He almost joined the Merchant Marines when I was in High School. I threw a FIT and he eventually gave up on it, but I heard about it for years! "I coulda seen the world!" "You could have been raped by pirates, gotten the clap and fallen overboard, idiot."

Welcome to the 1/14 Edition of Friday Evening Plans!

Mine's slightly different than usual - besides listening to Friday Night 80's I'm also doing homework for Bonehead Algebra and Ethics at Work. This weekend is going to be homework for Beginning Keyboarding and Microcomputer Applications.

I'm remembering why I wanted to be out of school again.

I worked Thursday night from 9-7 am and stayed up alll day waiting for UPS, hoping they'd get there before my son got out of school at 1:30. At 6:30 pm they finally showed up.
My Hitachi and a number of other toys were in there.
I wasn't so tired anymore.
