Your friends' parents: What did you call them?

Contributor: Llewey Llewey
I normally don't say the names of people in general. I'll say "Hey" or "Um" or face them when talking to get their attention. That's just how I initiate conversations. The only time I say names is if I REALLY immediately need to get their attention.

I call them whatever they are most comfortable with, usually I ask whether I should call them by name or by an honorific. Most of my parents friend's are pretty informal so they usually tell me to call them by their first names.

Well I grew up in the south and we use Mr or Miss along with the first name. So I would be Miss Gracie.
We had a group of friends when the girl's were growing up that preferred the kids in the neighborhood to call them "Ms." first name and I quite like that. My girls still call my friend's by their first name with Ms. or Mr.
Interestingly Arch was always called by his first name when the girl's were growing up...he's not much on formality and he always considered them his. They sometimes call him "other Dad" LOL

I used first names, and on occasion I referred to them as mom and dad.

When I first meet them its always Mr./Mrs. whatever their first name is. If it is someone I have known forever then their parents are mom and dad (: really just depends.
