He was the runt in a two pup litter and his sister (who was, no joke, twice his size) used to bully him. At first we thought it was just...y'know, puppies being puppies, but it got to the point where she would get sort of overenthusiastic and bite him hard enough to make him cry.
So when we were coming up with names for him we were just shooting names back and forth between us (my mother and I), I said "Ceaser" and she liked it so she added the "King" part and our last name since he's part of the family.
We figured maybe giving him a sort of "tough guy" name might help his self-confidence and he'd start standing up to his sister. (We called her Panda because of the marking around her belly&back.)
A male pug (Chopper named after my bulldog that died from a heart attack )
Mini pincher-Rocky (was already named when a friend gave him to me) And a parakeet named Scorpion which my 5 yr old son named..! HE wanted to name his sister that before she was born so we compromised!!!
Cat - KiKi and that's short for Kitty, I think. LOL.
Aphra - the last cat I had (whom my ex-husband got in the divorce). She was a calico-maine coon mix and had a habit of laying across my laptop keyboard as a kitten. Being as how I was looking through a book of author biographies, the name Aphra Behn struck me so the cat ended up with the name. (She's a political essayist and smut writer of the 18th century.)
