Yes, I watch porn!

As far as getting anything more than the obvious out of it … I've gotten many song ideas from porno movies that I later fleshed out with my band. I once did a split release noise music ep/mini cd link, that consisted of nothing but samples from porn and beats that I made with the program Fruity Loops, and I only worked on it while consuming alcohol - it was truly a labor of love.

When I was in high school, I used porn to convince one of my older friends to loan me his car even though I didn’t have a driver’s license at the time.

What separates good porn from bad porn? In my opinion, bad porn is usually the best porn, especially for 90’s porn! Although the more you watch, the pickier you tend to become about it.

I watch and review a lot of porn. I have pretty high standards when it comes to porn, so I have to keep watching it to find stuff that's worth watching a second time.

Sometimes I get a few laughs out of it, whether I'm laughing AT the porn or with it. I definitely have learned what I absolutely hate in porn, and what I love. I know which performers I can count on to rock out, and which I hate seeing (Angie Savage comes to mind... most annoying moaning ever).

Like Epiphora, I watch and review a lot of it (and so does my husband). Sometimes all we get out of it is the obvious, but other times we see new stuff to try (positions, role-playing, costumes, etc).

I think a lot of what separates good porn from bad porn for me is production value. Bad cuts, lighting, etc. can really make a porno bad. Also, when the actresses aren't into what they are doing, that can really ruin a scene. I'm not crazy about a lot of lead up or story, but that doesn't necessarily make it bad (that's what the ff button on the dvd player is for!).

I like realistically violent stuff. (Go figure) I mourn the death of the Rough Sex series on a weekly basis. (sigh) I curse every time a woman makes eye contact with the camera and looks at me like "ain't I sexy and just the sluttiest girl you've ever seeeeeen" when in reality she's just an attention seeking freak who isn't even enjoying what she's doing.

Real enjoyment - or the appearance of it - is absolutely key to me; the difference between good and bad porn.

Since we have over 100,000 movies on our site, i watch a lot of porn. I love porn, I am a highly visual person. So visual I dumped a few thousand dollars on a new TV (have I mentioned that Circuit City is now out of business? ... let's hope that warranty is still good). This TV has facilitated me on days where I was so horny I could barely stand or sit still, where I was jittery, constantly moving, and on the verge of a nervous breakdown because I needed to come.

Now, what separates good porn from bad porn? A good porno (if it includes members of the same sex and you tend to associate with heterosexuality) will actually make you rethink your sexuality... no kidding. A bad porn will turn you off from any particular fetishes that you've previously enjoyed, particular scenes, fantasies and the like. I'd say lighting and production value is everything but I tend to go for voyeur films, really amateurish films that look like shit. Handy cams translate to bogus quality but I love the homemade ones, I yearn to see "real people being captured on film without any clue". What makes an extremely good film is one that you want to watch more than once. You're reeled in from the moment you see the main characters. You get into the groove of watching them and before you know it you've wasted an entire afternoon and your clitoris is numb from overzealous exertion.

I love transgendered porn. Sure, I'm down with that normal adam/eve shit but I love something that makes me question how I identify myself. Have you seen Buck Angel or Vanity? These are two cats that I want to mess around with then totally forget any Christian values that still linger in this old sack of bones. What do I get out of it? You want something cheesy or inspirational? How about none of the above? I get off. That's what I get out of it. I get the release and that one moment where I'm so enveloped by the film that I get to imagine that's my pussy that Vanity is sticking her dick into or those are my tits that Buck Angel is gnawing on.

I usually watch porn during solo play, most times with the sound turned way down. My favorites are the Chemistry series for hot realistic fuck sessions w/o a contrived plot. It takes me to another place.
With a partner, we do watch at times as foreplay. Most of what's out there is really bad and contrived and yes, even funny...but what the fuck?

Where would we be without porn? We love our porn and it gives us something to do together, just us. We've learned from them too. Whether that was a different position or something like, "is that even possible? Lets try it!." Even different techniques for oral but, it's more than education for us too. Let me preface this by saying that I'm a really strange guy.

I love the idea of porn. Porn as a concept to me is limitless. But the execution tends to leave me cold. Granted, I don't seek it out the way I used to, but what I see here and there just kind of bores me. Either it makes me think, "well, that's nice - but I should go do it myself rather than watching them do it", or, "well, wasn't that a lovely exercise in advanced calisthenics."

I'm sure there's good stuff being made. Maria Beatty's films are interesting to me from an aesthetic point of view, but not so much in the 'I'm getting tinglies in my boy-bits' sorta way.

But really, I tend to go more juvenile in my porn-selection. Like "Alice in Wonderland" - the porno musical version. Classic. If you can find it, watch it. Or some of Jess Franco's 70s and 80s stuff. Weird trippy sitar-funk music, bad lighting, lesbian vampires, and nothing making a lick of sense.

I've come to realize that the thing that really gets me off about porn is the noise. So I love it when people make noise and talk dirty, or when I can hear the sounds bodies make during sex, but it REALLY grates me when things are super-fake. I cannot get turned on at all when it's blatantly obvious to me that they're faking.

Also, because I'm sensitive to sounds, women who gag on dicks turn me off. I get that it's a turn-on for some guys and makes them feel "huge," but when I hear a woman purposely going "guhlg-guhlg-guhlg" each time his dick hits the back of her throat, it turns me WAY OFF. It just sounds like she's going to vomit.

I want to enjoy porn, but have been turned off by the fake-ness of all of it. It's more depressing than enjoyable.
