Sure, it'll prevent the spread of HIV but it'll probably give everyone who takes it leukemia.

Why yes, I am jaded. There isn't a drug on the market that doesn't have a side effect that needs to be countered with another drug that has a side effect that needs to be countered with another drug that has a side effect that needs to be countered with another drug that has a side effect that needs to be countered with another drug...

Yes I read that too. It also said that the study was done on two focus groups. 1) High risk persons such as prostitutes and homosexal men and 2) Couples with only one partner that was infected. In the study condoms were used and they said it only helped prevent with the use of condoms. The thought that came up was that it would be no different then taking an asprin as long as a condom was used. Everyone or just about everyone should know condoms help prevent the spread of the virus. So what exactly does the drug do?

No idea. I'm on the jaded side, with Stormy (though for different reasons). It's probable that it does have an effect, but it's not the magic pill that cures, merely another med that helps the body fight off the virus, if only for a little while.

I think that its a great idea even though they are trying to say that this will encourage people to have unprotected sex i really dont think that this is true. I believe that this drug should have been out, anything thats an epidemic and that is a widespread there should be some type of drug or control over the situation. What they are doing now they should have been done years ago, especially with the means of technology that we have nowadays there really is no excuse
