I have three comments on this:

1. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHA

2. Hopefuly *somebody's* gonna lose their tax-exempt status (hope, wish!)

3. It's like my pops used to tell me: "Son, if you act like an asshole, eventually you're gonna get fucked."

If you believe in something enough to give money to it, you shouldn't be trying to hide yourself - especially when you favored something as drastic as a state constitutional amendment.

Lack of transparency = bad for government = bad for everyone. It's sad how much Prop-8 opponents hate America.

Does anyone know the exact formulation of the tax-exempt status stuff? I'd be curious.

Jesus, that's supposed to read "prop-8 proponents". Mea maxima culpa.

How come it only lists two from Utah? And small amounts? Where are the large contributions from the Mormon church I heard about?

If you download the file there are more than 800 contributors from all over the country. The largest contribution I saw was from PA in the amount of $450,000.00. This is just one of the organizations that supported Prop 8. I understand there are a couple more.

Being from Utah, (but shhh! don't tell...I might not be allowed to be here, I'd have to check the laws...lol), I was so disappointed how involved people got in something that wasn't even in their own state. It was on the news all the time, and yes, the church did ask members to support their 'personal' beliefs (I use 'personal' very loosely). My husband (a former member) got a letter about it.

It's sad that I'm used to this type of thing from the church....
