Are you (or have you) voted across party lines?

Contributor: SneakersAndPearls SneakersAndPearls
Have you ever voted for a candidate that was running for a party that wasn't your own? I always thought I wouldn't have a problem doing it, but it never came down to that until today, when I did.

I'm an independent, and vote for whoever is best for the job. I hate the fact that so many people feel they have to vote along party lines. We're not choosing a favorite sports team, guys.

That's the thing. Until this point, who I thought would do the best job just so happened to be in the same political party that I felt I was in. In this case, it was actually one person in particular that I voted for because he was a great proponent of things that were very important to me, and the other guy seemed very slimy. And no, not talking about presidential election.

I'd consider voting for an independent, but I wouldn't vote for anyone in a party that I didn't ideologically identify with.
