I'm watching a documentary and they through out a few stats that seemed shocking. Are you part of them?

I forgot to vote on the STD, lack of sleep. That was a no. I also have yet to have a child and my mommy desires are out of control now but it's not gonna happen still for another 2-3 years. I was sexually active in high school but I used condoms and the pill. If ANY girl lived with my mom they would go to great lengths NOT to let it happen. My mom is awesome but she put the fear in me lol! As soon as I ended up telling her I had sex she drug my butt down to Planned Parenthood the next day!

What age range are they considering a teen? Eighteen is legally an adult but also still a teenage age. If they're including agest 18 and 19 I could see that.

I too was wondering this and it effects how I vote. I was pregnant at 18 and 19, so that does make me a teen, however I was an adult and with my husband.

I was a virgin all through my teens - I was almost nineteen when I lost my virginity.

Never got pregnant or got an STD ever.

I have never had an STD, and I have never been pregnant. I know a lot of people who were pregnant in their teens though.

I just did a quick Google search, and it appears the statistic includes everyone up to age 20.

Thanks for this, I just voted then. It made me the first one to say I was a pregnant teen. However I was 18/19 and out of school. Never had an STD.

I didn't lose my virginity until my early 20's so definitely no pregnancy or STI's before that.

1 in 3 seems pretty high to me. I can only think of 2 people I know who got pregnant as teens. I'm sure others did and I just didn't hear about it, but I find 1 in 3 a little bit high.

I put I got pregnant as a teen, but I was 18 going on 19. Does that still count?

No STD's ever.

I live in America and I never got pregnant as a teen or now, and i've never had any STD.
I do know girls from my highschool who got preggers and STDs as teens though.

per this poll at least, i dont think these stats are right. anywho, i remember for my highschool, in rural kentucky... there were a few girls who did get prego, but i dont know about 1 in 3. more like 1 in 25.

wonder where they got that statistic.

I read a statistic that is was closer to 43%, and honestly, after living in rural, poorer area, I completely believe it. A lot of individuals don't have access to good sex ed or contraceptives in this country, and obviously, without both, you're really risking it with diseases and possible children. Only about half deliver their children, though.

Or larger cities - one of my history classes in Ft. Lauderdale had at least half of the girls in various stages of pregnancy.
