call me old-fashioned, but I definitely think there's too much sex on TV...or should I say, it's way too graphic when it could just be implied.

I feel the same way. The stations used to broadcast shows rated M after 10 pm, nowadays you'll see provocative stuff any hour of the day.

Maybe i am watching the wrong shows. I don't see much sex in the shows I watch. There are other TV programs out there that I'm sure are sex free.

If everyone liked the same things this would be one boring world.
11/27/2011
it can get a little racy, especially for shows that aren't necessarily aimed for older adults (like 90210 - i'm amazed at how much sex is in a show all about 18 year olds)... but all in all, it's not like it's just porn on tv 24/7
11/27/2011
I don't think there's quite enough when it comes to some movies. They advertise it as having sex scenes so ya sit there watching and waiting for it to happen and all ya get is a couple in bed under the covers. CRAP!
I must be in the wrong damn country if people feel the need to complain about the amount of sex on tv. Send it on to AU - we'll deal with it! Glad to take it off ya hands.

I don't think there's too much or not enough. I guess I'm in the middle with this one.

i agree with that part. i dont think we should have so many teenage roles in tv showing such graphic sex! It just seems like if they're playing a role where they're in high school, then perhaps they shpuld show way less they do do now. Seems like way too much, and real high isn't so much like that either.

I think there is to much of everything on tv, to much sex, violence, blood, all of that on tv and video games. People say to let kids watch it that will see it in real life all the time!! Um excuse me but I know dang good and well my kids and I have not walked out side and seen people having sex on a table and cops shooting killers down. There is not blood raining down from some zombie massacre and no black ops soldiers in my back yard!!

I've no problem with it whatsoever. There do exist shows that don't have sex scenes, after all.

As long as they dont gear it toward the normal family viewing time and let you know -hey this show contains tits n dicks go for it! Thank goodness for the satellite porn channels and the net. I really think with all the stupidity and self destruction we as a country engage in every day that nudity on tv is the least of our problems anymore. Riots and stampedes at walmarts and after every raider football game - what the hell is wrong with people?! Stay home and watch some booty on tv!

The only thing that I ever see on mainstream film and television is passionately kissing couples and people under sheets recovering from post coital activities. If I recall correctly, that's not what sex is. I think we need to step away from our prudery so that sex can be exhibited in an artistic manner.
i don't mind teenage roles that are sexualized, because let's face it, teens have sex. To portray a teenager as a pure virgin is unrealistic and unfair. If anything, it's just a reenforcement that girls (because let's face it, that's who is usually targeted) need to maintain a squeaky clean image even if she is having sex. Which isn't right and just feeds towards double standards.
And for those with kids, if you don't want your kids to see it, turn it off. It's very simple. I don't like having tamed television just so we can protect kids (job for parents, am i right?)

Yep. I agree. If you dont like it turn the channel or read a book...put in a video or just educate and communicate with your kids if they are who your worried about. I know my four seem to get more bs from school then they ever do from tv.

I personally don't mind the way it is... but I also don't have cable so I just watch my favourite shows online or watch movies on netflix...

I don't think there's too much sex on tv. However, there's far too little genuine sex positivity and sexual health related information on tv. ONE NIGHT STANDS WITHOUT THE MENTION OF CONDOMS IS AWESOME!!!!! How to conduct emotionally and physically healthy sexual relationships? Nah...
Guess they don't think that sort of thing would make good tv. Whatever.

I don't think there's too much sex; I do think there are too few perspectives and not enough accuracy

I think there should be more accurate sex.
02/10/2012
Too much; the media of today is so much different from that of when I was a kid and I'm only 29. Lol! I remember seeing my dad freak out the first time he saw a girl in just panties in a commercial! Too comical!!!
02/10/2012
I just want them to start showing tits in primetime network.
02/11/2012
There's hardly any on TV at all =P
Really, I just wish our censorship (In america, anyway) made more sense. Nipples poking through a thin t-shirt DO NOT need to be blurred, breasts are not harmful, and nonsexual nudity is not going to make people go blind (sexual nudity either, but that's not really appropriate for daytime television, I think)

I have no problem with how much there is. I don't believe that our problem there is too much sex in the media, just that we aren't teaching our children proper morals around sex, body image, and what healthy relationships are.
02/13/2012
Only if you're an uptight religious person. ;D

Too much sex not really what there is, is too much of one type of sex young, white, hetero-normative and not enough diversity, genuine sex positivity and health promoting images of sex.
