I don't think I would ever use a prostitute, but I've never lacked the kind of companionship I want for various sexual and non-sexual things. I don't know if I ever would go to one.

I personally find that having a chat about politics and critical sexology ends up happening whatever the scene and whomever the client. I just attract the sort of clients who want to chat, which is good, cause I like to chat too! I do sex work partially because I enjoy getting to know people in this intimate, intense way. I also enjoy helping people with their sexual/relationship issues, and we often talk about how to challenge their worries about communication and honesty.

Well, if someone's desperate enough for human contact and they can't afford a Realdoll, I don't see the harm in paying for a prostitute to cuddle with. Going to prostitutes instead of searching for legitimate relationships might not be the healthiest thing to do, but it's better than wallowing in misery and self-pity and ending up slashing prostitutes out of some misguided sense of being wronged by women... :|

People pay sex workers to provide a variety of services for a variety of reasons. I wouldn't personally do it (pay for cuddling), but I think generalizing why people do things is very simplistic.
