Pornsite Virus Blackmail

Wow! I was just reading about this virus called Kenzero that publishes your web browsing history online, and then charges you to remove it. I shouldn't be shocked, but that is insane!

That is truly awful! Since it has the element of blackmail to it, I wonder what all they could go after the creators/recipients of the money for. I also wonder if any of the antivirus programs can catch it?

From what I've read on it, it only [so far] has come from japanese anime games. From those infected who they've questioned about it said before they got the virus it prompted them for information. It doesn't sound like it is widespread... yet. It could be very scary if it got to be widespread though.

Even if I wanted to remove my information from a site, I would be way more skeptical of sending an online payment to blackmailing virus site.
