Pornstars becoming Mainstream and Sexuality in Music

I am curious about what everyone thinks on here- about whether America as a country is getting more sexual due to popular media (tv shows, music videos, books, etc) or whether they believe that Americans are becoming more openminded about sex due to the increasing 'live and let live' attitude of society, and that somewhat more risque media is not MAKING people raunchy, it is simply showing that we are more accepting of others' sexuality.

What do you think- media is making us sexual, or we are more open-minded and entertainment reflects that? Maybe both?

I think it's a combination of both. There seems to be more options media wise that are increasingly tolerant and supportive of sexual expression. There are also seems to be more diversity in sexual orientation being seen in the entertainment industry. I also feel that social media and the increase in the ease that we connect with others via the internet provides an avenue of tolerance and acceptance that was never available before.

I hope this makes sense, I tend to ramble

I haven't the credentials to know, but I'd hazzard a guess that it's more a case of, as the US has become more open, it appears to be getting 'sexier', but I think the media has cottoned on to this and are using it to make money.
