Best date movies!

Contributor: Katelyn Katelyn
I love going to the movies for dates and I am wondering which types of movies you like to take your date to.

I am thinking about crashing the 3-D version of Beauty and the Beast as it's my favorite Disney movie, but I can't quite decide if that's romantic for a first date ; )

I saw the first film adaptation of Girl With The Dragon Tattoo on a date. Big mistake due to the wildly graphic rape scene. Which, you know, was fine, but not really what you want to see on a date.

Romantic comedy, thriller, and horror are all high on the list for sure

I would not want to see a romance movie or a romantic comedy, unless it was more comedy and little romance, on a date. I despise those "big I-love-you/confession" scenes near the end of the movies.

Action is definitely the way to go!

I like romantic comedies because it's hard to find a non-romantic comedy that doesn't have 'potty humor' anymore

Haha I can't believe action is winning. I honestly put it up thinking that no one would pick it. I have only one been to an action movie for a date Guess I should start trying it out!

I chose the documentary indie flick stuff.. because that's the movies I tend to like most. And ideally, the person I'm on a date with would like them too lol. Naturally I wouldnt want to go with someone who couldn't enjoy it a little or whatever.

I think it depends on your personality and the personality of your date. If you both hate super romantic movies, you obviously wouldn't want to go to a romance movie. But if it's a movie you were both interested in, then whatever kind of movie would be a good idea I think.

I prefer watching movies at home, though, so I can subject people to Kubrick.

Depends. I hardly ever watch movies except pieces of Lifetime movies, but a cartoon would be our idea of a date movie. Lol. No pressure, nothing offensive, only simple humor! Innocent too. We find kids movies funnier than adults I guess. Our date nights are more like taking a road trip with our toys or visiting our new house with edible massage oil and our sex swing! Lol. But, I'm also a thriller kind of girl! I write thriller stories and they're also my fav to read and movies, if I watch em' they're usually thrillers!

same here. I think they both are great for dates too because you can laugh with comedy, or cuddle with horror.

i think for a first date, or any date really, it just depends what you and the other person likes. we always try to please each other, but we have similar tastes. it all depends. and honestly, i'm down for anything as long as its GOOD

I think it depends more on the preference of yourself and your date. Find one that you both want to go see, and whatever genre it is, then so be it

It all depends on what feels good at the moment.

Documentary or a psyche thriller/weird indie film so we have something to talk about over dinner afterward.

The best date movies are thriller or horror. They get your bold pumping and when you get all jumpy, your date is the perfect person to "cuddle" with. Plus there are studies and stuff that say that people bond well over thriller/horror movies because of that stuff.

depends on the person, but usually action movies work.
