Young man in my office always carries a couple condoms in his wallet on ANY first date. Young lady in the office carries her own condom...and a toothbrush (which she does NOT use at work), spare panties and other things, when going on a date (her get away pouch, is what she calls it). Do others still carry these items when going on FIRST dates..."just in case"???

I've never brought anything with me on a first date. I'd like to know the guy a little more before I do anything physical with him, and having a condom or something with me just in case may cause me to do something I later regret.

I don't bring those things with me on a first date specifically...but I have them all the time. I always have 2 condoms in my compact (changed out regularly especially if exposed to heat, etc.), and a makeup bag in my purse or SUV that contains basic makeup, a tiny bottle of lotion, tiny brush, tiny hair spray, mini toothbrush and a travel deodorant and toothpaste. I never thought to add panties but probably because I don't mind going commando if need be. Better safe and prepared than sorry.
When I was younger, me and most of my friends had similar small bags packed in our cars for anything from a one night stand to an impromptu overnight somewhere unexpected. We called them 'ho bags' (please don't be offended, it was a joke, and we were carrying them ourselves so it's not like we were passing judgement) and more often or not it was stuff that ended up being used if we drank too much and passed out at a friends house or went to the beach and decided to stay the night. I'd be lying if I said they were NEVER used for other purposes though...

I might just have those items on me anyway because I've got a giant purse to fill with all kind of supplies, but specifically for a first date? No. If the purse was being packed for a first date those kinds of items would probably not make it in. (Although I did stay over at my current bf's on our first date, but the rule was snuggling only )

I always have a couple condoms, a mini lube, toothbrush & toothpaste, baby wipes, sewing kit, mini-screwdriver, etc. in my bag. They'll be there regardless of dating status. Most of times those things have ended up being used it was actually with boyfriends, not casual dates. One of those last-condom-broke moments or whatever.
(Anyone else notice their purses getting larger & fuller as they age? I'm turning into my mom. I swear you can ask her for like... a shoehorn & she'll bring one right out!)

Not as a habit. I used to keep a few condoms in the car. Don't like them in my wallet for many reasons and carrying them can feel like a jinx.

I've never brought a "date bag" on a first date. I eventually kept a bag at my now husbands house when we were dating and he had items at my place as well.

In theory I'm not doing anything on a first date, but I'd rather be prepared for anything.
But sometimes when I go out I wear my period panties if I want to make sure nothing happens...
