Have you ever thought someone was way too attractive to think you were attractive.....but been pleasantly surprised?

I have, so I was wondering about everyone else. And even if you weren't pleasantly surprised, you may be in the future.

Actually, my husband!! I was friends with him for a few years before we got together and he got my attention (and a lot of others) right away. I never had too many confidence issues, I feel like you either like or are attracted to me or not, but was very surprised he was thinking of me that way. It took a few years, but then I was more than pleasantly surprised. It has been 15 years and he is still amazingly gorgeous.

I'm not sure how to answer this. The only time it had been 'mutual' was with Mulder - the guy I lost my virginity to in high school and had a FWB arrangement after I separated from my husband. I thought he was gorgeous in high school, and still thought he was gorgeous when we met again as adults. Although I'm not exactly sure if it counts since it was just a fuck buddy thing ... the attraction was more of 'we trust each other and we've always wondered'. Didn't last more than four months, but I did feel a little smug that I was the ugly fat chick with the hot guy whenever we went out.

I wouldn't say he's gorgeous, but Master is definitely cute.

yeah, a couple times.

I know I'm not the best looking guy out there, so I tend to not go after traditionally attractive people based on looks alone. I try to get to know them first. A good brain and a sharp wit are way more attractive than anything else.

Yeah, I met this absolutely gorgeous Domme on fetlife and she thinks I'm cute.
x'D We're just friends but knowing someone like her thinks I'm cute was one hell of a pleasant shock.

Not really. While I don't think highly of myself... at all, I haven't ever felt that any of my partners were too good for me. I've not ever been surprised that they would find me attractive. I'm not the cutest thing in the world, but I haven't ever had that issue. My partner is adorable in every way, but I think we're a perfect, equal match.

Yup, my hubby! It was a pleasant surprise...

A very long story I could go into later, but we thought the other wasn't interested in being anything more than friends (*cough*withbenefits*c ough*). It wasn't until months after I had moved away when he confessed this to me, at which point I was shocked! Especially when he really could have dated almost anyone else he wanted.

Great reply JR!! After I am friends with someone they start to look way better to me : ) I generally think I am the better looking gal in the couple though. Haha, I get people with great personalitys who honestly don't care about how they look, whereas I spend a lot of time on appearance.
But I am a lucky gal to have found such amazing gf's and bf's who are funny and thoughtful.

Yes. My ex was absolutely jaw-droppingly gorgeous. Every woman who met him adored him. I, on the other hand, am fairly average, and at the time, was not used to getting any attention from men.

He thought I was absolutely gorgeous, despite the fact that he was clearly out of my league. We dated for a long while, and it was a good relationship as his personality matched his looks. Amazing man inside and out.
