My friend is 44 yrs old and she is dating a 23 year old. Her daughter is older then the man she is dating. As how old is to young? For a woman is her forties?

I agree that too young would be if it were illegal. I'm 24 and my husband is 43. We have a great relationship. There is nothing wrong with these types of relationships except all the people around being so judgmental.

Of course, they have every right to date each other. BUT--their age difference is likely to cause problems.
Right now, the relationship suits both their needs. But people change a lot in their 20s. Most people realize they want kids after age 30, even if they didn't want kids when they were in their 20s.
If she were my friend I'd be concerned that she was setting herself up for heartbreak. I'd ask her if she'd considered the realities, but I'd be supportive after that. Ultimately it's up to the two of them to work this out.

As long as the partner is of legal age, nothing is "too young." My Man is older than I am, we've been together for a very long time and have not run into any of the "problems" that some insist will happen. My father's wife is almost 20 years younger than he is and they haven't run into any of the "problems" some insist will happen. My best friend's husband was many years old than she, and they were very happy until his premature death (which had nothing to do with his age, he was only in his 50s.) My mother's second husband was about 10 years older than she was, they were very happy. Do these naysayers KNOW enough about relationships like these to "warn" anyone else against them? My guess is no.
