I'm not a guy and I've never really "dated" in the traditional sense but what I find these days is that people are pretty much on their own schedule with things and stuff like the "three day rule" doesn't apply anymore. I think people are a lot more vocal about their feelings these days and if someone likes you, (or doesn't like you), it doesn't take long for them to let you know.
On the flip-side of that, if you like the person then text them and say, "Hey, had a great time. Hope you did, too. Hope to do it again soon!" If you don't get a response, then you know how you stand with them.
