My bf is 19 and likes purple. Color doesn't mean anything. In fact, before it was socially accepted, pink used to be a guy's color and blue a girl's because blue was said to be more soothing to baby girls and pink more 'aggressive' and for the baby boys.
I like green though, I don't fit on either side if we're going that route of gender-specific colors, haha.

but I've settled on a happier and more insightful reason people have favorite colors- I read in an article that our favorite colors denote the persona of ourselves. I'm green, so I'm lively and quick witted- and pink I believe is supposed to be excited, lively, mild mannered and sweet? I hope that's right, because my BF likes pink too...
