The ultimate package frenzy???

Okay, so why is it that when a girl/guy gets the ultimate package that they were looking for in a partner, we get scared and mess it up, or go into the "it's too good to be true, so put and KEEP all your guards up" mindstate of thinking and operating? Is it just me, or have others noticed that too?

Hmmm...I think it's one of those "human condition" things...some people don't have the self-esteem to think they can "properly" appreciate their good luck. Some people don't think they "deserve" something good.

I've seen both men and women do this.

Oh man, I did this with my husband at first. Luckily about 10 months after that we finally got back together and made it work out! But yea, at first I had all my guards up and I was looking for each and ever little thing that I could imagine to be wrong with the situation. Such a mess. I have to agree with it being human condition and a self esteem thing. When I met my husband my self esteem was in the dumps, so the idea that anyone especially someone aweseome could love me was just unfeasable to me.

I think some of it has to do with the fact that we ourselves are not perfect. We want someone to have all the qualities we want and then when they do, we want to take them down to our level so we don't feel like we aren't good enough. A double edged sword.
