What are the most important dating rules these days?

I hope someone knows, too. Even though I'm in a relationship now, I always hated the dating part because it was some Game that I never knew the rules of, and they always called on loopholes of not having to be decent by playing that game.

I think the biggest rule is don't be a jackass, and be honest with people. Aside from that, everything else needs to be negotiated by the people involved.

I dont know either, but I just try to be honest and be myself.

These are my rules. Pretty obvious stuff, but I catch people not following them all the time despite that.

Be really super honest.

Be yourself, completely unwatered down. If they can't handle you that way, they don't deserve you.

If they ever abuse you in any way, kick them to the curb.

If they lie to you all the time, get rid of them.

Don't put up with ridiculously jealous people who try to make you stop being friends with all kinds of people you've known and loved for much longer than they've been in your life.

If you initially meet online, like through a dating site, be extra safe at least for your first few in person dates. By that I mean tell a trusted friend where you will be meeting and arrange to call that friend at a specified time to confirm that you're ok. If you don't make that call your friend should call you but also be prepared to look for you in case something went terribly wrong.

For me no sex for at least 6 dates, if he can't wait that long he's just looking for a FB.

I've never really considered rules to be terribly helpful. In my eyes, just go with whatever you and your partner are comfortable with, and that'll make things better than any rules will.

I've never really done the dating thing. But I don't see how silly arbitrary rules would help.
