I was curious to see what women do when they miss a birth control pill. Do you make your partner do or do not do certain things? Are there rules? Don't sweet it? Etc.
What do you do when you miss a bc pill?

We go on as normal, since I take birth control for an ovarian cyst issue, but he is sterilized. However, when I was on it for actual birth control purposes, I would take the double pill as the package instructs, and use condoms or not have PIV sex for a week.

When I forget to take a pill, I take that pill the next day with my other pill, as scheduled.

I used to forget to take my pill often so I would take two the next day but I would tell my guy to pull out or I would make him wear a condom. Once he came inside me even if I told him to pull out...he was in the momment. I told him that I skipped a day. So the next day I didn't take a chance and I went to the pharmacie to get a plan B "the day after" pill, just to be sure.
Now, I have an IUD so no more prolbems about forgeting, yay!

I think I'm over tired or something... I meant to hit other... not do nothing!
I'm on nuva ring so it doesn't really apply to me. Although... sometimes I do take it out for sex and then fall asleep without putting it back in, but it's not as big of a deal as missing a pill.
The reason I'm not on the pill is because I suuuccckkk at remembering to take pills everyday and it's too important for my stupidness. When I was with my last bf, I would forget constantly and he'd always have to wear a condom.

When I was on the pill, I took the next pill when I realized I missed it and made my partner wear a condom for a week to be safe. I've been on Nuvaring for 3 years now and I'd never go back to the pill if I can help it. Love the ring.

I don't have to worry about missing a day because I have a ring, not a pill. It's nice to not have to remember to take a pill every single day.

I follow the instructions that came with my pills, so if I just miss one I take it when I remember then keep taking the pills as scheduled. If I missed 2 pills I would use condoms as a backup.

I just double up the next day and use a condom. It's not generally a big deal unless you keep missing pills.

I don't use the pill, I go with Depo, lol. The doctor was baffled when I nearly passed out/got sick from getting my blood drawn the other day, and that I hate needles, and yet still wanted the shot.
The reason being that I have a terrible memory and I know that I wouldn't be able to remember to take the pill every day, and last thing I need is to miss it, I'm definitely not ready for children. At least I can more easily remember an appointment every three months as opposed to taking birth control every day. That, and generally, I can handle a shot as long as it's quick. Blood drawing on the other hand, not so much.

I'm not on the pill anymore, but I was for years. I used to forget all the time, then take two the next day. Skipping days here and there isn't enough for you to ovulate. At least I didn't pay a price for my forgetfulness.

I'm on Seasonique and the package says to just take the missed one as soon as you remember or as a double dose the next day, but that you will still be protected. It says to use a back up method if you miss two or more. Although pregnancy prevention isn't the reason I'm taking the pill and isn't an issue now, I would probably use a condom anyway, just in case.

I don't think I actually have sex enough (with someone else) for this to be enough of a problem for me. I often do forget. I tried taking my pill at night, but it gave me insomnia. I really don't have a regular schedule, so I'm considering another form of contraception

I'm on a pill that I can't just double up on to catch up.
So we just abstain.....But really I forget so infrequently that it's not an issue.

With the pill I take, the instructions are if you miss one pill, just take 2 the next day at your normal time and you don't need a backup birth control method. I'm cool with that.

condoms! but in all honesty we use condoms all the time when I was on the pill after our bc failed. I was just taking pills to help regulate my period, Unfortunately my body doesn't respond to hormones that well lol

It depends on where in my cycle I am...If it is at the start of a new cycle then he has to use a condom same if it is in the middle but at the end of my cycle I just carry on as normal.

I always keep the booklet that comes with my pills. It says in there whether a second birth control method should be used. I've always followed that (for making up pills, too)
