Which massage oils do you like best?

Contributor: Mariye Mariye
My boyfriend knows how to give reeeeeally good massages and generally uses regular lotion, but I was thinking about surprising him and buying some sexually oriented lotions or oils.

Any suggestions?

okay, we use coconut oil for both massages and lube, and LOVE it. But it won't work as lube if you're using latex condoms. (Before someone yells at me for using oil as lube - petroleum oils are bad for the vagina, food oils are not. I've run this by a couple of doctors. I also have several friends who stopped getting vaginal/yeast infections when they switched to coconut oil)

I also love Lush's massage bars - the Amazonian smells so good

I've heard terrific things about coconut oil!

My ex bought me a massage oil from Bath and Body Works (while we were still together, of course) called Sensuality, it's Vanilla and Jasmine scented. I'm still working on the same bottle with my boyfriend of over 3 years. It smells and feels amazing. Also makes it easier for me to give him massages (my hands get tired easily but reduced friction-reduced work).
We don't use it for lube though...I feel like that would end badly.

Know anything that does work as a lube with latex condoms?

Mmm I love coconut oil.

Surprisingly, the absolute BEST massage oil I have ever used was the Shunga Massage Candle oil link ....the Lavender is just perfect. Not greasy, not too thick or too thin, just warm and perfect. I use it all the time on my heels and elbows too. It's better than Burt's Bees for moisturizing rough skin and so delicious for massages.

Completely random, but pure coconut oil can also do wonders for your hair. =)

Oh my gods, so can ID Velvet Lube.

We used it for a quick back rub the other day - I'm fond of silicone for that - and it got in my hair. My hair was Pantene commercial shiny after that!

I (second? fourth? seventh?) coconut oil - it's generally solid in the container so if it does happen to get knocked over it doesn't go all over everything. (it's soft enough to scoop out, though).

Get some essential oils to mix in for scent and you're good to go (keep some without scent if you end up using it for lube).

My husband and I love Kama Sutra oils....let's all say "DUH" right? Surprisingly though we love the Sensuous Massage oil from My Joy Collection as well. It's under 6 dollars for 4.5 fl oz very very nice bang for the buck. I have a very sensitive vagina so we don;t use the oils as lube, I am going to have to try coconut oil though.

I, too, am on the hunt for an awesome massage oil. I haven't tried any of the big name oils yet, but the best I've had so far was this Serenity pheromone massage cream I got from a Pure Romance sex toy party. Yes, it was a little overpriced and it is not condom compatible, but it smells like smarties (!!!) and is an awesome lotion overall. With actual "oils" I keep running into the same problem--it's too sticky! Silicone lube would be awesome for massages, but I feel it's too expensive to "waste" on that, so... yeah. In the same boat here, lol.

Hubby doesn't like oils :-((
we usually just use whatever lotions I have around.
Any ideas on how to get him to start using oils?
Lots of good ones listed here and I LOVE getting massages!!!

I am so in love with the Kama Sutra massage oil ( link | especially the travel size kit!) I'm not sure that I will ever use anything else again. I've given some to a friend, we each have some by our bed, and I threw out some other oil.

Where do you buy coconut oil?

Start by giving him a massage! (Especially one that ends on his genitals...)

Coconut oil can usually be found at Whole Foods, but lately all I've seen when I've gone is palm oil. Usually natural food stores carry it in large quantities, as do some Asian/International food markets. If there are neither of those near you, a general grocery store may have it, and I know some of the local Wal-Marts near me carry it on a semi-regular basis.

I do give him massages- lots of them but I never get them in return!
Our nature food store has coconut oil.

I posted a review on a Kama Sutra oil that I absolutely love! I've also heard of people ordering grapeseed oil offline for dirt cheap and enjoying that. Supposedly you can get rather large bottles of it as a carrier oil for other essential oils.

UPDATE- we have been using coconut oil and love it. I'm getting and giving more massages which are feeling wonderful!!!

coconut oil does sound lovely, but here is what I do:
I use vitamin E oil...it is awesome for the skin. My man likes the scent of patchouli and sandalwood oil so I add a tiny drop to it (a little goes a long way!)

I'm with you on the Amazonian by Lush! It has a very sexy scent. I haven't ventured to use it on 'sensitive bits' though- I had a feeling that might not work out so well. Did you use it in that way?

Another suggestion:
Almond oil is supposed to work well on sensitive bits. Betty Dodson recommends sweet almond oil for female genital massage at link

not for people with nut allergies or for use with latex condoms.

I hate oil and anything oily. Baby oil especially. Why oil babies anyway? Some oils smell nice, but I can't stand greasy skin. And then after a few hours on hot skin, oils smell rancid. I've tried adding concentrated aromatic oils to thin moisturizers like ylang ylang, etc, but I consider those a fragrance.
Here's one for ya, backstage at bodybuilding contests we use Pam and a rag, buff it, spray more. Its sticky as hell, but looks great under the rediculously bright lights. That's what the fake tans are all about. If you are not as dark as mahogany, you blend into the air and lights on stage. Kiss living on eggwhites and protein powder and spending three hours lifting everyday goodbye if you don't "show" right. Its like a dog breed show. '
In real life, I don't want to shine. Or look oily and sweaty.
I'd rather massage someone with Shower to Shower powder than oil.

Almond oil? Really? EF needs to carry this. Can it be used with toys?

We use to use a lot of Almond oil - but recently we've been using more cocoa butter mixtures. In the winter straight up cocoa butter usually needs to be heated - but when mixed with vanilla or other scents it seems to stay soft enough.

Shea butters are also very nice.

So do we! For massage and lube, and it's worked well for us for years.

I know this post is super old, but I thought I'd add my two cents.
I'm a massage therapist and I always use grape seed oil. It's the best because it's not sticky and you don't run the risk of nut allergies being a problem. Plus it's all natural
