I have a serious scar from an accident and also stretch marks from years ago when I had my daughter. I noticed quite a few products and the are pricey enough that I cannot try them all. I was hoping some of you have tried them and have advice for me on what worked, and which ones are a rip off.

I have lots of scars as I am quite accident prone as well as some nasty stretch marks from gaining some weight fast. Unfortunately I have not found anything that works. I did hear Mederma is good but I haven't tried it. Not sure if this helps but guys shouldn't care about stretch marks. Mine are nasty and I'm slightly overweight now (but working on it ha) and my guy still thinks I'm beautiful

I just had my daughter almost a month ago, and I got some pretty bad stretch marks from it, but I got this stuff called Tummy Butter it comes in a little can only for 10$ and have been using it for a week , and you can't even really see them any more.

I tried the mederma stretch mark stuff for some light marks on my thighs and boobs and I'm really not sure it works because I couldn't manage to use it for very long because I thought it smelled HORRIBLE. It smells nothing like normal mederma, which I think is fine. It's a crazy strong powdery floral scent plus, idk, chemically. I'll put some on occasionally when I spend nights alone (so no one but me has to smell it), but I've mostly resolved to dealing with what's there and using lots of cocoa butter products. No idea how well normal mederma works on stretch marks as opposed to other kinds of scars.

The palmer's Tummy butter smells FABULOUS. The stuff in the tub, not the bottle. It's harder to use though, and I'm not really sure how well it works. It doesn't do much for the appearance of my marks, but that might be because mine are pretty faint anyway.

That said, I was watching an episode of the British version of How to Look Good Naked and they do product testing and they did one for stretch mark removal products and said the new Nivea product got the highest ratings from their testers.

For the stretch marks at least, Shea butter and coco oil seems to work well.

I like my scars. They're all fairly cool looking.
I don't know how to get rid of them.

I've heard cocoa butter is good for stretch marks though.

I've bought so much crap promising "instant results" my bathroom cupboards are overflowing. If you ever find that magic cure, let me know. After 2 kids my stomach and hips look like a New York City roadmap.

There's a scar gel that I'm using right now actually. It is great. It's from Derma-E, and it's just called Scar Gel.

Btw the newer the scar, the better the results!

Vitamin E is really supposed to work well, if you can remember to apply it at LEAST once a day.

I use vitamin E oil from a bottle or I use the capsules for scars and IT WORKS. haven't tried it for stretch marks since I don't have any. but I do think it's worth a try. I think vitamin A creams are effective for stretch marks from what I've read. Both need to be used daily. I just keep the vitamin E oil on the scar as much as possible daily. I had a bad hot oil burn on my foot this January & used vitamin E oil regularly & w/i less than 6 months of the burn healing, the scar was gone. The sooner it is used, the quicker the scar disappears.

I have stretch marks (lots!) and have been applying Bio-oil for a couple of years now as well as taking vitamin e capsules. To be honest I don't think it's made a lot of difference! But rubbing the Bio-oil in feels nice so what the hell!

My wife used cocao butter and she didn't get any stretch marks after two kids. I definatly suggest that stuff, but she used it religiously three times a day.
