We have been together more than 20 years. I was a teenager when we first got together, we weathered an Open Relationship, having children and a number of things I prefer not to talk about.

I think it is certainly possible. One has to be realistic about what to expect from love. An other person doesn't "make you happy." They are part of your life, contribute to your life, you contribute to theirs, but happiness is YOUR responsibility.

Trust, honesty and realistic expectations is the best way to make a relationship work. At least as far as I know.

I definitely think they can. It can take a lot of work, but definitely. Love is so indefinite among humans, and there's always a possibility for many things to happen with love.

I feel like love is forever. There are people whom I cannot speak to anymore because of breakups (both romantically and friendship-wise) or because they were bad for me but I never stop loving any one of them.

I feel like love is forever. It can't be helped.

I think it is possible, but I am surrounded by examples that indicate otherwise.

I have huge troubles thinking of this, cause I want to believe in monogamy and a single partner, but my previous experiences and my environment are making me doubtful

I think two people can love eachother forever. It just depends on the people and their ability to change together and learn to cooperate and communicate.

Staying together takes commitment. Neither can have an attitude to just walk away at the first arguement. The experiance gets better each day you are together learning what makes each other happy.
