We've done it several times. There is a beautiful beach by where we used to live that is only sees a lot of traffic between June and August, so we would go there during the off season when it was pretty much deserted.

Yes we have! Back in what I call our 'BC' days (before children). We used to go way up in the mountains to some really neat waterfalls and big creeks. *sigh*

I love picnics! We've gone on a few, but I'd love to do it more often. Eating outside and enjoying nature is just so lovely. I don't think we focus on the romance as much as the relaxation and good conversation that comes from the picnics.

Yes, it was one of our best dates last year. I got all dressed up pretty, we went to our favourite gourmet store and picked out a selection of delicious things, got some good beer (for stealthy park drinking) and went and sat out in the sun on a blanket. Ate, drank, sunbathed, and took turns reading from a novel to each other. Basically heaven.

He will pack a beautiful lunch for us to take with us when we hike or bike, fish or whatever. We used to spend the days at the beach or on the levee, when we lived in the lower 48. We would picnic on a bottle of wine or ice cold beer, sliced cheeses, olives, crackers or shrimp po' boys or a bucket of crawfish and just bask in the sun. It is more about being together outside and sharing a meal than what it is we are eating.
