There are times my boyfriend either hints or kids of a proposal, and I don't know when to take him serious. I never want to get my hopes up, so I expect nothing, but I'd like to think that maybe he's planning something. Are there any signs I should look out for? Are there any people that have been proposed to that can tell me some of their experiences?

If he has close friends see how they react around you and see if they ever hint of a surprise. Don't ask them, but see if they act different. My husbands friends unintentionally clued me in because they acted like they had a big secret they couldn't share.

Kid back with him--that will give you an idea of how serious he is, he might be waiting for a clue from you. Guys rarely kid about that kind of stuff.
