Something I am curious of.

So this would be a pretty bad situation for someone. But I have heard it happens to poeple. So let's say that you are a guy and have a child with someone. Now Something happens and the two of you split. The child stays with the mother and the father is told to pay child support. Years go by and it comes to light that your not the father, she cheated on you and it is someone else's kid. Now what I want to know does the mother have to pay the father back for all those years of child support he was told to pay. Or does she get off scott free.

Depends on the state and court room battle. But seriously, the guy has been a father to this kid its whole life, he'd be an ass for just walking out like that and breaking the kid's heart.

And once he refused to pay...mom can say FU you can't see the kid anymore. I have a family member who had a situation like this...he adopted the kid after the divorce and everything.

Depends on the state and whether or not the man and woman were married when the child was born and if in some cases if he signed the birth certificate. She would also have to go after the biological father for support before anything else could happen and if he signs away parental rights things could get really murky.

I think most courts feel a child should be cared for financially regardless of the bank account used to do so and are unlikely to levy anything substantial to the mother.

I wanna say this happened to a football player a few years back. He paid child support the whole time they grew up and when they turned 18 she told him he wasn't the father. Something happened along those lines. But I never heard what happen after that. But as far as I heard he paid big money in child support, cause he had it and it was court ordered. So now my question is did she have to pay back the money cause she just used this guy cause he had money. Just so she could give her children a better life.

I highly doubt it, because when they split he could have had a blood test done. Seriously, I feel awful saying this, but people should get the tests done before accepting full responsibility on the child. I know there are people who don't care if the child is there's, and that is totally different. But, if you would bail in the case that the child is not yours, I believe then a test before paying 18 years of child support is needed. Just sayin'
