Help for husband with ED

Contributor: midge75 midge75
I'm new here and need some help! My husband is in remission from rectal cancer which makes me very happy to have the love of my life and the amazing father of our children here and healthy. However, a combination of lengthy radiation and surgeries to remove the cancer have left us unable to have "proper" intercourse and this is making us both very sad. We have not had penetrative sex for almost 3 years now because of this, we did buy a strap-on that works (for me not him) but it just doesn't feel the same for me.

Are there any products on the market that would be suitable for us?

I would very much welcome advice and product recommendations to help us regain our intimate relationship. Thank you!

Sounds to me like your husband may need medical intervention. There are inject-able products - even implants that give you a permanent erection. This is more a problem for a doctor than a sex toy.

"we did buy a strap-on that works (for me not him)"

Do you mean you bought a prosthetic for him to wear or something different?

If your husband can get an erection, a cock ring will help him to maintain it. If getting hard is difficult, a pump might prove helpful. If he cannot get an erection at all, he should see his doctor who is best qualified to prescribe treatment.

Best of luck to you and best wishes for his continued health.

He can get a partial erection but just not enough to enable intercourse. He can still achieve orgasm but it is dry (no ejaculate) and can only be reached via masturbation. He has seen a specialist a few times. We have used the usual medications but are looking for something more spontaneous that can be kept in the drawer and used without the necessary "take an hour before".

If you're craving penetration, then a prosthetic would be best. With a hollow strap-on, neither of you has to worry about planning ahead and he doesn't need to worry about achieving or maintaining an erection, but he will still be able to engage in intercourse.

The Fetish Fantasy line, which is listed as silicone, is currently on sale. You can see a comparison of some of the models HERE or you can do a search on your own.
