Men...if you are going out with your wife or girlfriend, do you make sure your car is washed/waxed...etc (if the guy is driving).???

A couple of my divorced and now RE dating girlfriends and I had this lunch discussion and some are TOTALLY turned off when someone comes to pick them up in a dirty car. "It shows me they don't care", one of them said. "Date night it is pretty much over right then". Any other woman out there feel as strongly about this?

Having been married a long time, if we are going out, I would like the car to look clean, but it sure does not make or break the deal.

What about other married folks out there. When you have "date night" or are going out on the town, does having a clean car "spice it up" or having a dirty car "water it down" in the way you feel???

On very special occasions, I'll clean up the car for when we go out, but most of the time it is as it is. I mean, it's a Toyota Echo - no amount of cleaning is going to make that thing look good.

I don't care, unless there's a bunch of trash and stuff all over the car.

Back in the day I would, but now not so much. Just try to keep the trash off the floor boards so my wife doesn't have to step in it.

On the first date I always vacuum my car and get it washed, but slack off as the relationship goes on.

We are just glad to be out together for alone time. While we certainly try to keep the cars generally picked up, we are not going to worry about it ruining our chance to be alone together and having fun.

No, I wash and clean out my car every week. I like my "things" to be well taken care of. I keep my cars waxed and spotless, I keep the outside of the house freshly painted and pressure washed, lawn mowed, ect.. Just the way I am.
