Question for Description Reviewers about Dildos and "Performance" Section

Contributor: Breas Breas
Hey everyone!

I'm writing a DR right now on a dildo. Most of the DR's I've received in the past are vibrating toys, or other types of products.

I'm looking at the format for the review and notice that "performance" is required. I'm wondering what all I should put in this section, or if anyone has some questions they ask themselves before writing about the performance of a toy that doesn't vibrate?

I guess I'm struggling with this because I feel the performance section would be pretty similar to the "experience" section.. except I can be subjective in the experience section. I also feel that a few things that should be put into the "performance" section have already been put into the "Use" section. I hope I'm making sense (it's pretty late here). I just feel like a lot of these sections are overlapping.

I often struggle with the different sections because I agree that there is overlap. However, I would not worry too much and simply make sure that all of the information that you want to include is in the review somewhere.

agree..there always seems to be overlap and ambiguity in the terminology of the sections. I end up repeating myself and that makes reviews longer than necessary sometimes.

Performance for me would mean how well does the toy hold up during use. In my case on the review of the Fantasy Elite 4.5" Dildo I felt performance dealt with how well it stayed suctioned to the wall. How long did it stay on the wall? How well did it hold on the wall in comparison to your body movements? How easy or hard was it to reposition it?

In the case of using a harness: How well did it hold in the harness? In the case of my review if I had used one, did the dildo stay in place? Did it turn around or stay in place in the harness?

I agree there is an overlap performance to me would mean how well did the toy hold up to its advertised claims. Hands free is very important to me so this why I would mention the suction cup's adherence to the shower wall and how long.

Performance would include:
-color fading
-material peeling or potential defects
-sturdiness, limp to very hard
-if suctioned, how did it hold, etc.

Those are the questions I try to answer in the dildo performance section....

I just use the performance section as the experience section and skip adding the experience.

This is something that a lot of my students struggle with. I always feel like my dildo reviews are a bit skimpy in that section! I mostly talk about how well it works for thrusting, g-spot stimulation, anal play, if it can be used as a plug or in public, harness use, couples use, and if it has a suction cup.
