Lately my boyfriend and I have been getting assigned a lot of anal toys. Neither of us are interesting in trying anal play, and we don't have any of those types of toys checked off in our preferences. Has anything like this happened to you, or do you know why?
Why do we keep getting assigned products not listed in our preferences?

This has happened to a few people that I know of. I've gotten some items pushed to me with materials I have blocked. I think the explanation Eden gave for this is that due to the sheer number of reviewers that this type of thing just happens sometimes. They try to take preference into account, but going through each person's check boxes every time would prove cumbersome. I don't think they have a system that says "filter those who will review X product and X material."

I think they try to check--but with the volume of items lately it is way too time consuming.

You could always drop a note to JR that you really REALLY aren't interested in anal toys. Then again most anal toys are really kinda nice for vaginal play as well. For a long time before I got interested in actually trying anal stimulation I used them vaginally with great success.

I agree with what everyone else said in this thread but wanted to add that some people probably update their preferences very rarely but many people are open (or eventually become open) to trying new things. So if someone came to the website, said they don't like glass material for whatever reason, may eventually want to try it after reading through the forums, etc. and they may not remember to update their preferences. Does that make sense?

I actually like accepting assignments for things I wouldn't normally look at. I have found some new cool stuff in doing so. You can always decline the assignments!

Other people who posted are right, but we're working on improving that. This is just one of the reasons no one is ever penalized or anything when they decline an assignment. It's always "no harm, no foul".
