Anyone else not like the new product page layout?

For the toys that is, as it doesn't seem to apply to all categories. I liked the older version better with the tabs on the left side for "overview", "reviews", and the other one. I guess I'll have to get used to it, but I miss the old layout.

It's hard for me to figure out which reviews are verified... maybe there's a way I haven't figured out yet...?

I'm not a huge fan so far. If I were brand new to the site, I'd definitely be confused. I've been trying to think of a good way to blend the old way with the new way in something that's new and awesome, but at the same time really easy to figure out.

There isn't a way. There's another thread I think it's in the update post that talks about the new product pages. They're going to be making some adjustments it said.

At the bottom of each review (on the individual review page, not on the product page), there is a line for FTC guidelines. It's right above where you vote on the review. If the line says "This content is the opinion of the submitting contributor and is not endorsed by EdenFantasys.com" then that means the toy was not provided by EF for review, so it is not a verified review. If the line says "This product was provided free of charge to the reviewer. This review is in compliance with the FTC guidelines." then it is a verified review. It's also verified if the line says "This product was provided at a discounted price..." which means the reviewer used a buyout.

It's not a fast way to tell, by any means, but I hope that helps until the updates kick in.

Yea I'm not a fan.

Have you seen it on the update 216 page? There is a discussion already there.

I don't doubt that eden is working to make it more efficient, but for now it is giving me a headache. It is making my time here much less efficient.

I hear ya, Lauren. I had just gotten used to the old layout and now I have to re-learn everything, and it's harder to get to reviews instantly.

Not a fan. Just as a shopper, I think it's better to have the review tab right next to the overview tab. I spent most of my shopping time reading reviews, even before I reviewed anything. The bigger pictures are more accurate, but scrolling down the new larger layout feels messy and disorganized in comparison to the old one. The tidy constrained look of the old site is important to the feeling of trustworthiness. A "sloppier" layout feels more like the sites I wouldn't shop at.

Yeah I agree that the tab that used to be on the left with the overview and review tab was easier to understand and find.

Agreed. I liked the tabs better. It didn't mean I had to scroll halfway to Waterloo to find out information, and I liked the scrolly, um, thing at the top, with the customer comparison and stuff. I like the larger pictures, and the pictures showing the colors, but otherwise it requires too much scrolling.

I'll check on the update 216 page. I'm glad I'm not alone.

I'm so glad someone mentioned this! I really dislike it. I think it totally detracts from the reviews and draws your attention away from them...which is really unfortunate, because I know we all work hard to provide good, useful reviews The reviews section just kind of all blends together with everything else...and it's hard to tell where you should click in order to read the full review!

I think it makes it all a bit overwhelming and too busy. Especially for a first-time user of the site. If I hadn't been here before and known that I could look at product reviews, I don't think I would even really notice them...except for the one that's featured fully at the bottom of the page! It's all just too much all at once, I think...

Don't like it as a reviewer or a shopper.Feels inefficient and tends to make me irritated and less likely to read about the product.

I'm really not a fan either. I totally appreciate the work that went in, but I've been trying to get some shopping done lately, and I find the new pages to be totally useless for me to find the information I need easily. Ugh. I'm sure I will get used to it in time.. But for now - no like.

I thought it was just me and that I was missing something. I hadn't realized they'd changed the layout. I agree, I prefer the old one better.

Hate. Detest.

Bring back the old!!! There was nothing wrong with it, really.

This new layout is hard to navigate and very hard for shoppers to find the full reviews. Took me a while to find them myself!

I really have to agree with everything you said.

On another note it IS really pretty, but I feel like more people are looking to get functional and easy to use rather than pretty.

Honestly I like the old style better.

Not every change is an improvement

Remember the 'New' Coke. It didn't take them long to bring out Coke 'Classic' then give up on the "new' Coke all together.

I think what i miss most about the old is the tabs. I don't know, tabs just seem to work best with me when navigating a site. Perhaps bring those back but maybe change info under the tabs?

I agree I liked the old layout better but as has already been said I'm assuming if enough people are complaining it will get improved eventually

I really preferred the old layout as well. This one to me seems... I don't know. It's just too much. I would prefer to have to click somewhere (on a link, review, etc) to learn more information than to scroll 10,000 times to get all of it on a single page without having to click.

I just..bleh. Don't like.
