Attention Editors!!

Contributor: Mikemanz Mikemanz
Due to the relatively high number of fake/unreadable reviews currently in the task list, I have been adding a comment in the title line. However this is being deleted by unscrupulous writers to get their junk published. To this end I have been adding a comment at the bottom, where it cannot be deleted. I also find that other editors who are working with authors will put a note at the bottom. So to avoid re-editing, or worse, publishing stolen junk, I am now always checking the bottom of the review for editor comments. The task market continues to be plagued with new plagiarists and some really unreadable writing.

MOST of the legitimate reviews are very well written (I can't speak to content), and don't need a lot of editing. I always try to leave their authors a positive note.

It is good practice to add the comment on the bottom and in the title. Stormy said she was going to do some cleanup, but I guess that hasn't happened yet.

I have not dealt with plagiarized reviews the past few days. I guess I'm just lucky and grabbing tasks?

Every single review and user I reported to Stormy (which she acknowledged) is still in the Market. Anyway, Mike: Will do! I have a feeling some reviews are genuine but written by ESL (English as a Second Language) users. That's fine, but it does take quite a bit longer to proofread. I'm more than happy to edit and publish any original review. The bigger problem is always the plagiarists, who are still not being policed by any admins.

Right, I haven't looked today, is it still the same people? Their IP addresses should be blocked by now....

yes, some are very challenging to edit! i would rather spend an hour on one of these, though, than 10 minutes on a fake!
