Format of Reviews Question

Contributor: Loriandhubby Loriandhubby
Hello, How is everyone this evening?

I have some questions and thought maybe some of you could help a bit.

When I'm writing my reviews I'm very collage paper type oriented in my formating. ie... topic sentances, indenting, and such.

The problem I'm seeming to have is #1 is this style to long of a format. To drawn out maybe. IDK. I tend to do it sort of like this...
rather than use one topic scentance, I use an opeing three or four scentaces. Then below I adress each point in the opening with a few scentaces in there own paragraph like.

Also, I'm wondering.. Is there a way to indent. I use the five spaces in my typing but when I post it for some reason it does not stick. And all the scentaces convert to the block only format.

Lastly, is there a way to use bullets? Maybe this option to list points would flow smoother and faster.

I really hope that what I'm thinking in my head I"m trying to say is coming out right...

Thank you for any input, corective critisim, or anything on the subject of my reviews.

Currently it takes me about 2-4 days to write one review. Whew that is a long time I guess. That lead me to thinking maybe there is a more effective way to adress then and be a bit faster.

Thanks a bunch
HUGS... Lori

We all do have our own styles---and they develop as we grow as reviewers. And I really like your 'topic sentence, then break it down' style. Keep on!

For a few of the formatting questions:
-I don't think we have the ability to indent, so just use a double line break to separate things.

-Bullets I'm not s ure about either, but I think using an ordinal list in the text of the paragraph usually works fine (if you're meaning for functions on a vibrator). Is that what you're asking?

Also, for timing---it used to take me days to write each review, too. But as I've gotten more practice, and I've developed a pretty standard outline for my reviews (What's attractive about it as a product in its field? (Use) Talk about how it is built, and the way how it is built affects the body (including health and ease of cleaning). (Construction) Talk about the qualities of the vibe if it's motorized, otherwise how 'built-to-last' it is, and how to store it (Performance) , and closing (Final Thoughts) ---these things come much quicker now than they used to.

For bullets I just use
1) Things
2) Like
3) This

But you can also use

+Plus
+Signs

or

>Pretty much
-Anything like
=That

Everyone has their own style! Just play around with it a bit.

I managed to get some stars in my reviews via the copy/paste method. They're Wingdings characters so they should work well. I know there are some bullets in that set, too.

Sometimes if you copy formatted stuff over from Word it'll keep the formatting of it.

Thanks a bunch !

I'm off to see if I can get them to stay in the indent format.

@Dawn, I tried one of the styles from word and when I saved the review it showed up as ? for each one. maybe it id not recognize the style.

Also when I tried the other bullets from Word it all went back to the block format. Maybe that is the only option for the text format.

I'm confused about what quote collage paper type oriented in my formating is. I'm picturing something like Facebook's new Time Line structure, where there is a collage of pictures? Is that what you mean? I'm not quite sure how you would use that in a review, though.

As far as I know, indenting doesn't work on the review formatting. I indent when I write my reviews on Word, but it reformats when I put it in the review. I use ~ instead of bullet points, as they don't format properly in a review, either. But using ~ will.

To make a bullet format correctly, you should copy and paste from the character map not the word doc. Learned that one the hard way a few times.

I'm so sorry my bad spelling. College is what I intended to say. The papers for school consisted of one topic sentence, suporting sentence, and a conclusion sentence for each paragraph.

Thank you all for helping me figure this out!!
