How do you vote on the Rumbles?

Contributor: Kindred Kindred
I've noticed that there are typically more total votes in the Weekly Review Rumbles than most of the nominated reviews typically have individually. For example, the current Rumble has a total of 29 votes so far, and one review has 32 votes but most have votes in the teens.

Each week, I try to read each nominated review and then decide which to vote on. Which leads me to my question, why is there such a discrepancy? Do you only read the reviews of products you are interested it? Do you read them all but forget to vote on them? Do you only read the ones of reviewers you are interested in?

I read all of them and vote for the best one.

Are you looking at the percentage? I am not quite understanding your question.

I try to read them all, and if I don't finish reading them all for whatever reason (generally because I forget I haven't finished reading them all and then suddenly it's over), I don't vote in the Rumble. I also don't vote if I really can't decide. There are frequently several that deserve to win for various reasons, because there are a whole lot of clever folks around here.

At the time, there were a total of 29 votes cast in this weeks Rumble. However, the majority of the reviews that were nominated only have maybe 12-16 rating votes on the review itself. It seems to me a discrepancy. Ideally, shouldn't people voting in the Rumble read every review nominated, and in turn hopefully rating the individual reviews as well? If this were true, each nomination should have at least 29 ratings and likely more. Just wondering wht the possible reason for this discrepancy is.

Oh I see. You would think so, I would guess that some people don't vote/leave comments on some reviews. Also I think that some do not actually read all the reviews but just vote for someone they like or who they think should win and not base there vote on th review itself.

I read them all and then decide. It is always a hard decision but I dont base it on who I want to win.
