How many times do you proof read your review before publishing it?

Not enough. I always spot errors after I publish it, which is inexcusable.
I have that same problem.

I usually reread it about 3 or 4 times and show it to at least one other person. With that said, I've only been REALLY happy with about 3 or 4 of my reviews and the rest are simply acceptable. I'm a bit of a perfectionist.

I make the mistake of being too impatient, rereading over once or twice, and posting it. I need to take time because I go back and find little misspellings or grammar mistakes. Never a good thing for a reviewer.

For me I will miss really obvious stuff when editing my own writing. These same errors would jump off the page at me if it were not my own writing. I always begin to visualize whatever I am writing about (especially for reviews). I also think that because I kind of already know what I wrote, my brain skims along and fills in the blanks.

I'll look over my reviews once after I'm finished, not just for typos but also because I am multi-lingual, sometimes leading to sentences that just sound funny.

Some reviews take me one sitting, but other can take days depending.

I voted "I proof read it 3+ times just to make sure its right" because of that.

I always go over my review many times before submitting it. Even so, I sometimes find errors that just eluded me.

I know I only did one review, but I am usually careful when I type and then proofread again after I'm done. If some mistakes are overlooked after that, there is not much I can do. Even if I am fluent, English is not my first language.

I proofread at least 3 times, but even then I miss errors. I really should start getting my husband to check my reviews before I submit them.

Oh gosh, I'm glad I'm not the only one who proof reads is several times and lets someone else proof read it as well. lol And I *still* end up finding something after the fact. Ah well.

I usually read it at least three times unless I'm positive it's good after two. I usually do a couple sections at a time read through it after a break.

I've worked at home since 1991 - because of that I've had to review my own writing for a long time. Proof reading your own work has limitations. You often read what you intended to write - not what's actually on the page. Our brains are odd about things like that. Although I have others review important business correspondence, I do my own proof reading for EF.

That's why EF's editing capabilities are so cool!!!!! Thanks to the IT Geeks!!!

I'll go through it a few times before I publish it, and then at least once more after it does get published just to make sure I got everything I wanted to in, and can take care of any typos I may have missed. For whatever reason I can't see it all properly until it's all published, lol

I have a bad habit or reversing letters in a word so I have to pay close attention when I proofread. Damn dyslexia.

I've noticed that I have a bad habit of interchanging words. So when I go to read things back I'll have completely wrong words where they should be something else.

Also, my 'o' key doesn't like to work much, so sometimes I'll have a few sentences without them til I go back and add them, lol

Me too!

I like to make sure my reviews are well-written and free of grammatical errors(for the most part haha.) For the first 2 reviews that I wrote, I went over them several times to ensure they were definitely ready. Obviously, sometimes errors slip through even after proofing it a few times; however, a lot of the other members on this site are very helpful with that aspect.

Proof reading is an obsession of mine. If not put in check it can also hurt. We have some great editors who also helped with my proof reading (Bless them!)

I am can't say I am a perfectionist because I am sure there are technical sentence structure errors, that make my writing "my writing".

I proofread during the actual writing of each section and then after it's all done and published. I do the same thing with Facebook status' and tweets, I like seeing how it looks after it's done and spelling errors bother me

I reread until I'm happy and then once more. A couple of times I've still had to edit after publication, so a case could be made that that wasn't enough.

I've learned to accept the small typos I know will be there. Because if I let myself obsess over it, I would seriously take forever to publish a review. I have to cut my perfectionism off early to prevent madness.

I proofread and re-write quite a bit..more than 3 times. I'm shocked something at things I see that get passed "editors".

Not enough. My mind races and my fingers often cant keep up. It seems to always find things I've missed. Then again that's what the edit button is for(for example I proofread and changed this post 3 times lol)

I usually read through it twice, publish it, and read it again. I find that when it's in a different format, such as published, I see it completely differently and tend to catch more mistakes.

Now that I am editing reviews, I see so many reviews that are blatantly never proof-read even once. No care or thought is put into them really and sometimes sentences don't make any sense (like missing words/phrases).

They even make an effort to do EXACTLY 300 words on the short form, so that when I hyphenate a word or make a small change, I end up with 299 or less words. I've seen it enough that it's not coincidental. Sometimes I wonder if they actually purchased/used the product at all based on the info given.
